Is it a proverb or something? The first two are one of the few kanji I picked up in Japan... Does the last kanji has the woman sign in it? Yeah, that's what you learn - how to get in and out of stations, and which bathroom to go.

San Francisco gets a whiff of a double rainbow on a saturday evening.

The outer rainbow did actually also go all the way on the other side.

Interesting observation: from outside-to-in, the outer rainbow goes from VIBGYOR while the inner rainbow goes from ROYGBIV.

Day 184-Had my second dissertation proposal revision meeting with my chair today at my university and I saw this really cool piece of art on this building that is for sale near my university.

Making progress and it was a nice surprise.

Sign at the ablutions fountain at Narita's Shinshoji temple.

Why "hot dog" should be the only thing this sign says in English is one of those mysteries for the ages. If anyone who reads Japanese can explain, I would sincerely appreciate it.

I found this tiny moth sitting on the wall just outside my parents' house. It begged to be immortalized.

Lighting: my trusty 430EXII @ 1/4th power, handheld at camera left and triggered with Cactus v4. No softbox this time, though I did use a diffuser.
