Es un edificio gótico victoriano que alberga las dos Cámaras que componen el Parlamento Británico.
En octubre de 1834, un asolador incendio destruyó el antiguo palacio que habÃa alojado el Parlamento desde 1512. El edificio también habÃa servido como residencia real en Londres desde la época de Guillermo el Conquistador.
En 1847 el edificio se veÃa prácticamente terminado con la construcción de 1.200 habitaciones, 11 patios y 3,5 kilómetros de pasillos.
El palacio se encuentra flanqueado por la Victoria Tower, una imponente torre que reúne las copias de todas las leyes del Parlamento desde 1497, y también por la carismática torre del Big Ben.

Westminster is a district of Central London within the City of Westminster, which is on the north bank of the River Thames.
The concentration in Westminster of tourist attractions and historical monuments is one of the biggest in London including: the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral.
The palace of Westminster as we know it today is built around 1840 after a big fire in 1834 destroyed most of the original palace. In the center of this picture we see the 'Elizabeth tower' or more commenly known as the 'Big Ben'.

BNSF Y-NTW150 emerges out of Tunnel #1 at Westminster Junction behind a pair of ex-Santa Fe B40-8Ws. Tunnels #1 and #2 were completed by the Northern Pacific in 1889 and became a part of the "East Side Line" under Westminster Junction. Altogether, the NP built four tunnels under the Great Northern and Omaha Road mainlines at Westminster between 1885 and 1889, all of which remain in service today.
