Horseshoe Bay is a community of about 1,000 permanent residents, located in West Vancouver, in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Situated on the western tip of West Vancouver at the entrance to Howe Sound, the village marks the western end of Highway 1 on mainland British Columbia (and furthermore the main route of the Trans-Canada Highway on the Canadian mainland). It also serves as the southern end of the Sea-to-Sky Highway, with Lions Bay just 15 minutes north.
Horseshoe Bay is the location of the third-busiest BC Ferries terminal, the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. Wikipedia

Aurora Borealis lights the sky over West Vancouver and Cypress Mountain with a beautiful array of colour. Green,
ultraviolet and blue rays reflect off the waters of English Bay with a stunning display of the Northern Lights. Aurorae
are caused by cosmic rays, solar wind and magnetospheric plasma interacting with the upper atmosphere. Captured this morning in awe...from the Spanish Banks, Vancouver, BC 06-08-2015

The Norwegian Joy waits until low tide to pass underneath the Vancouver's Lions Gate Bridge. The height of this bridge deck is 61m (200ft) while the air-draft (highest point of the ship) of the Norwegian Joy is 58m (190ft). There are navigational aids on the ship, on shore and on the bridge. Real-time air gap and tide/current monitors as well as tug escorts help guide the ship through. It's one of the largest cruise ships in the world. West Vancouver's Ambleside in the distance. Massive rain clouds unloaded for hours over West Vancouver causing creeks to overflow and flooding homes. This was the moment when the setting sun broke through the clouds and sent horizontal rays of sunshine over to the north shore. A throwback to the most amazing Aurora Borealis light show I've ever seen here in Vancouver. Pillars of light shot up into the night sky like laser beams over the north shore mountains. The lights of Cypress Mountain reflect off the clouds above and below onto the frigid waters of English Bay. From left to right, looking from Caulfeild in West Vancouver, to the lights of Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver, to the lights of the Lions Gate Bridge and Stanley Park.
