vinho e a pedra,

sou a língua da árvore.

in a well of leaves

I wait to write in this well of leaves with hands

between trees,

everything comes slowly in black labyrinths

or sequences of a confused white calligraphy.

I love this soft hiding place and the tireness of landscapes.

Here it is when the text begins with lips, teeth, tongue

and with sound of the wasps in its gracile sleep.

What it oscillates in the blackness is my barren food.

My phrases have a scent of water and heat of a quiet flame.

Inside of an uncertain face I learn the solar petals

and between the clear shades I am yellow soil, I am

wine and rock,

I am the tongue of tree.

Interesting POV allows the scene to look as if there may be a problem. In reality Aberdeen and Rockfish GP18 #300 will turn to the right in the scene on the already thrown switch behind the hopper allowing the train to bypass the hoppers.

Wells is a small mining and tourist town in the Cariboo region of BC. It is located on BC Hwy 26, 74km east of Quesnel and 8km before the highway's terminus at Barkerville. Gold is mined nearby. There are many recreational activities as well, including mountain biking, canoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing.

Serving the popular tourist suburb of Arashiyama in western Kyoto is the Hankyu Railway's Arashiyama Line. This short local line connects Katsura Station with the namesake city and is served by these 1970's era 6000 Series EMU's every 10 minutes. Another aspect of this line that is noticeable is not just how well maintained and clean their trains are, but their lineside infrastructure as well. Silver riveted catenary gantries and silver signals with finials; how retro!

The "Handsome Railway" living up to its name, that's for sure.

While Natalie has been away for meeting some

flickr-friends in the Harz-Mountains, we 4 men have

had a very nice wellness-weekend.

Henry enjoys it to have a complete sofa for his own.

Just a cellphone shot because I had to be fast :)

Well here is something that caught my eye as I walked down to the shops , there has often been a flag flying here - sometimes the Union or Union Jack , sometimes the Ukraine Flag , sometimes the England Flag , but today I note it is a flag of Remembrance .

Try as I might , the wind was not playing ball and if it was not laying wrapped on the flag pole it was at best just a gentle flutter in the breeze , so I did not get a straight out view of the flag to see the whole image properly . There was one that showed the flag straighter but the " Lest We Forget " part was folded over and hidden . So take as you view it and remember the poignant message it makes .

I have taken quite a few shots here , including the one where the wind was blowing in two different directions at once and on another occasion when " Heathrow Had A Problem "

Wells Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in Wells, Somerset, England, dedicated to St Andrew the Apostle and seat of the Bishop of Bath and Wells, whose cathedral it holds as mother church of the Diocese of Bath and Wells. Built in 1176–1450 to replace an earlier church on the site since 705, it is moderately sized for an English cathedral. Its broad west front and large central tower are dominant features. It has been called "unquestionably one of the most beautiful" and "most poetic" of English cathedrals

“A well-deserved break between two wild ideas... 💭

The marble can wait, the lights too. 💡

Right now, it's just me, the couch ️,

and that delicious urge to feel the world slow down. 😌

My body stretches, my mind wanders... maybe to you. 👀

What if inspiration came from a glance 😏,

a shiver , a hand resting just right…? ✋🔥”

Well, I guess it's getting pretty obvious that I'm running out of good stock shots that I took last summer and I'm now resorting to putting bits and pieces together from different things. I'll be glad when the weather gets better and I can get out and get some new stuff to work with. Don't get me wrong. I love doing this as well but there's nothing like getting out there and hitting the shutter button. Fresh air. New things to discover.

These huts are from shots I took at our local zoo. Always wanted to use them so this is what I came up with.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jim

Sunset Thors Well.

People pay a lot of money to have furniture painted to look well worn and chipping like this fence was. But this one was au natural. It stands out in this town of well kept fences and lawns.

Happy Fence friday everyone. :-)))))

a Spotted Sandpiper seen out at 2 Mile Landing, Wildwood, N.J.

Between the nasty storms and now this heat, getting out and walking the beaches and nature trails down here hasn't been an option, but I figured I could maybe do a little "drive by" picture taking.

After going to get my hair cut yesterday, I decided to cruise out to 2 Mile Landing to see if there were any birds there worth photographing.

I was happy to find a few models poking around in the mudflats and marsh close up to the restaurant driveway, I could photograph from the comfort of my air conditioned car.

This heatwave is no joke!

Stay cool and hydrated this weekend my friends!

Well known Central London banger i snapped years ago, its done 147k miles.

Well let us see...scarf. I have the scarf but I can say that paper is made from leaves and then I have that right? Just no red, if only my hair was red for this one instance.

I've been listening to this one boy band song for about 100 times and it is never getting old. Oh, this is me, for those that do not know in 52 weeks.

She was briskly-walking up on a land-bridge, traveling between two bodies of water. She's fairly large (approx. 2 Ft x 1 Ft x 10 inches tall), although I have seen them just a bit larger. She seemed to have 'two-lives' on this beautiful bright day; one life 'in the water' and another 'on-land'. She wasn't afraid and seemed happy. I got right down on her (eye) level on the ground about 10-feet in front of her to get this angle. She just kept walking right at me. LOL I eventually had to get out of the/her way! LOL She stopped at the dirt-path to

look-me-over, and continued on her way down the far-slope and

into her 'Water-World'. And then she was gone! Thanks for looking.
