Number 24 for 2020 Weekly Alphabet Challenge : eXcited.
I was thrilled to bits to see my first Speckled Bush-crickets of this year. They are still very tiny and my eye sight is getting worse so I was very lucky to spot this!

For the second week running GB Railfreight's Biffa-liveried Class 66, 66 783 "The Flying Dustman" works the additional Tuesdays Only STVA. The extra train runs when required by customer demand. The loaded train runs during the day as 6X43, with the empties returning overnight from Garston as 6L47.
66783 has not-particularly-neat white cab window surrounds as it had been released the previous week from Longport after further mods to bring the ex-DB Cargo/EWS locomotive up to GB Class 66/7 spec. The mods at Longport were primarily focussed on diver comfort, including air con, new windows/double-glazing, new seats and improved sound insulation. "The Flying Dustman" is due a visit in the coming week or two to Arlington's at Eastleigh to have the paintwork touched up.
My first residence in Japan was an apartment called Tsukasa Weekly Mansion in Yokohama. The place was dear to me and whenever I came back to Tokyo, I often tried to come see the old room for old time's sake. This was the view each morning leaving home going to work and while I couldn't exactly explain why it felt so special to me ... it was ... and has always been.

This was the first episode of The Weekly Flickr series.
We went behind the lens with Stephen Nessen, radio reporter and photographer for WNYC New York Public Radio. He told us the story behind the photos he took while on assignment just days after Hurricane Sandy demolished Breezy Point in Rockaway, Queens.

Take Aim: A Challenge Group ~ Something Old
Two diamond rings. One inherited from my grandmother and the other inherited from my great aunt. My great aunt's ring is over 100 years old and was her engagement ring. Her fiancée went off to fight in the First World War where he was killed. She never married and wore his ring every day of her life.

It was my weekly shop day, today. I bought ice cream and it didn't all fit in my freezer draw, so I was forced to eat this ice cream snickers (it was the last one in the box) to free up some space :)

GBRf Class 66 No. 66707 passes through delightful scenery on the Marches line near Pandy as the sun begins to fade, working the Penyffordd – Avonmouth (6V41) loaded cement tanks. This is the first time I have managed to photograph this once weekly working via the Marches line.
