A lowish crop of weeds beside a carpark, seen against the background of a cream coloured corrugated iron fence.

I don't know what they are.

Very tiny, each flower (bud?) is only 2~3mm in diameter.

Weeds that have sprung up at the bottom of a mound of builder's sand. Spotted in an empty city block, that is waiting for redevelopment.

I have no idea what this flower/herb/weed is, but I found it fascinating. It was growing in the Culross Palace garden in Culross, Scotland. It seemed like the perfect, spooky plant for Halloween!

At least I think they were weeds. While driving along the Icefields Parkway near Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada I could see miles of what looked like snow lining the highway. I pulled over and discovered loads of what appeared to be weeds. Maybe you know what they are. Anyway it made a nice image. I used Lightroom and Topaz Studio to process.

Simple weeds blowing in the wind ahead of an incoming thunderstorm.

What? Another Missouri barn?? You betcha!

Thought I'd finally post this as I struggle to keep up with the weeds taking over our yard.

Happy ~~fence friday~~

The first signs of Spring over here at last, with some dandelions making an appearance. Thought I'd do some googling and, as always, nature amazes me. Did you know every part of a dandelion is edible? The flowers, leaves, roots have all been used in salads, teas & wines. Dandelion greens are packed with vitamins A, C, K, calcium, iron & potassium. Who knew! Well, apparently lots of people, they've been used for centuries in Chinese, Middle eastern & European herbal medicine.

They are great little travellers too - their seeds have tiny parachutes that lets them float for up to 8 kilometres.

I saw a couple of sayings - "Little suns by day, little moons by night" and "Sometimes the simplest things carry the most magic". Both seem so true!

Have a great week and thanks as always for any comments, they are always appreciated!

Wood, rocks, and weeds are all that's left to see at the abandoned Burleigh Murray Ranch near Half Moon Bay. However, they're worth the mile long trek to get out to see them if you're interested in the history of ranching along the San Mateo County Coast. I've been here several times and never once run into another person, so you can definitely get some peace and quiet during your visit.

Or maybe they are weeds depending on your perspective. I thought they looked pretty nice either way.

My website: In the Moment Creations

I was out looking for something to photograph this morning. To my chagrin, not a critter in sight. I thought to myself, Don, “you are really getting deep in the weeds with this wildlife photo-shoot thing.” Then it dawned on me, I should actually get down in the weeds and look for a subject… and I found one.

PS. My grandfather was a wellspring of sage advice… I remember him telling me: “Don’t Eat Yellow Snow” and “All Mushrooms are Edible, Some Only Once.”

Mass weeds growing on the footpath side of a suburban garden fence. I sat on the footpath to shoot this, and got tooted by a passing car.

Say goodbye to the summer weeds.
