It is amazing how beautiful a weed can be.

Sorry not a serious title contender - just a hint that it was inspired by the lepidodendron fossil that formed the coal measures in these parts, the saw wrack sea weed that grows profusely here, and stained glass windows.

It's pastel over watercolour on a full sheet of hefty Saunders Waterford paper, measures 76 x 56cms

This funky little "weed" was like a carpet on the path where I walk the dogs most days. It kind of smells a bit like pineapple, and looks like it too!

Somehow I suspect this weed in a flooded low spot will survive until the ground dries. Beside The Bradford Creek Greenway in Madison, Alabama

Common name - "Himalayan balsam" is considered a major invasive weed in the UK, but it can still look rather pretty. I often see this weed forcefully uprooted when walking on footpaths, think its refereed to as ‘balsam bashing’

So many natural Colors in this Fire Weed.

Overlooking Avila Bay and Point San Luis. Mustard weed can grow to six or 7 feet tall and walking through it can feel like you’re in a forest.

but I liked the yellow amongs't the green.

Autumn shots of the very invasive but rather beautiful weed

...or weed. Growing as a volunteer, along the shoreline of the lake.

The white blossom could easily hide behind a US penny, or certainly a nickel.

This is NOT a macro shot of any kind. It is a photo taken at 400mm, cropped and enlarged. If one wants to call it a close-up, that's fine. But macro...by any stretch...hardly.

While also a weed the lovely yellow gold colour of the dandelion is uplifting in this grey time. However, like David Nice I mowed them all down yesterday! Stay sane and safe friends

In the yard, it would be a weed - but in the field it's kind of pretty, makes an interesting photo..

Interesting design and texture in this weed.

Can a weed be art? I applied an oil painting filter in Topaz to the original image. Thanks for stopping by. All comments are very much appreciated.

The weather this weekend was very much needed to give us a taste of spring being right around the corner!

Spent part of the sunny and “warm” afternoon exploring with Tina, Cherie and my mom :) outside of Northville. We ran across some amazing places from cemeteries to farms and as I was still playing with Cherie’s 50mm 1.8, it was all very good! This turquoise color seemed to be a popular choice for a few of the old structures.

A plain weed made sublime by rich late day light.

"Weed with Pastel" - An unknown weed or grass with a pastel inspiration.

This intense green weed really attracted me to this rock shelf. Apparently it is very seasonal and you only get it at spring.

Took this shot at around 5:45am, sun wasn't up yet. Exposure times were around the 2 min mark (this is a composite of two exposures (not HDR).
