I am a believer in acknowledging influences in photographs and this one was definitely inspired by Michela Griffith's fantastic water images which I saw in print at her exhibition.

This photograph is simply of weed with trapped autumn leaves with a small, standing wave in a slightly swollen and swift running river. The lack of clarity and motion of the water appealed to me for this abstract.

I don't have a clue what kind of weed this is, but it looks interesting

..But a weed is simply a plant that wants to grow where people want something else. In blaming nature, people mistake the culprit. Weeds are people's idea, not nature's.

Explored - thank you!

Just playing around with some old images from Hawaii............................I really miss that place, weeds (not weed - lol) and all!

Rather unfairly called a weed, which implies it's a useless plant, the many varieties of seaweed offer not only a source of food and hiding places for marine creatures, but also a valuable crop for mankind.

Among it's many uses are types that can be eaten, some used to make such products as toothpaste, cosmetics, medicines and even explosives!

I took this photo 12 years ago.

I upload this photo again, with high resolution. I still love this photo. When the afternoon near my house, the westerning sun was shining weed which was coming out at the roadside of canal.

Fresh commercial (cheap) weed from Mexico, kind of unusual, immature seeds. Not for me . . . smelled & tasted okay but not very effective. Looks better than any schwag I've seen in awhile.

(Not my "Where's George" stamp, either.)

Map link is not exact location, lol.

Had no choice but to name this title after the stunningly colourful weed growth at the base of the rocks here.....

I have no idea what this is but know it's a weed...or a mutt. You don't purchase seeds for it :) To me, a flower nut, I like it just the same.

It's called "Daisy Fleabane." I'm not smart enough to know that, Mary Jo is. Thanks Mary Jo.

Here we see the elusive weed weasel stalking its prey.

It's true what they say that a weed is a flower in the wrong place. Sometimes it's necessary to put weeds in their place, which in this case is the burn pile. I had just finished a long weeding session when I stood up and took in the sharp contrasts and brilliant green colors of late summer.

I know it's not actually weed.

Air Tanker in the distance dropping fire retardant on the Weed California fire near the California-Oregon border. The fire started on Sept. 15 and burned 479 acres within five days. The fast moving blaze nearly leveled an entire neighborhood -- destroying 150 homes and eight commercial properties and damaging four homes and three commercial buildings.

We were traveling on Interstate 5 nearby on our way to Ashland Oregon. When I took this photo.
