Yellow Admiral (Vanessa itea)

A bit the worse for wear, but the first I have seen this year.

It was catching some sun on our side fence, I was down on my knees for this shot, and then it flew off.

My time for Flickr will be a bit limited over the weekend, Louise and Rui are down from Sydney as the wedding planning progresses.

Here is the story behind what makes it so special to me, and why I chose it as YBSNature21. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for all the views and faves.

Several years ago on of my daughters wanted to start learning photography so she started tagging along with me on weekends every now and then. Soon it became a regular father/daughter tradition in it's own way. Since then she got engaged and then married to a great guy. With all the wedding planning we didn't get out as much as before, but still had wonderful quality time. The wedding was at the end of October this year and we finally got another morning in on 12/4. This photo is from that morning and it was nature's way of welcoming father/daughter time once again.

For Macro Mondays theme - Three

Those of you that know me quite well know that I really like to get the most from my photo props. I have had these macarons since October 2014. They are now soggy on one side and falling apart so this will be their last performance...they have served me well. HMM

Apologies in advance if I am unable to get around to commenting on your photos. Hopefully after next weekend normal service will be resumed. It's been a roller coaster of a year so far, with a two month trip down under, a visit to our son in Malta. Making wedding invitations for our eldest son's wedding which is this Friday, plus helping with the wedding plans, looking for outfits, and lots of other stuff going on. This week is going to be particularly busy.

Ever wondered what your favourite Disney characters would be doing in quarantine? Here’s Anna! Now as we all know, our wonderful Anna can never sit still so I can imagine quarantine driving her absolutely nuts!! Haha trying every indoor activity in sight (even reading) but it just not doing the trick! But I also imagine her treasuring the family time with Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven. At least all that wedding planning may be keeping her busy too?

I hope this series brings you a little bit of joy because just know wherever you are, we are truly ALL in this together... even our favourite Disney characters are with us in spirit ♥️

Some friends of ours were married on the weekend, so I had the opportunity to dabble in some wedding photography. The weather oscillated from a dull overcast to sunny, then to threatening stormy sky’s followed by torrential rain, and back to sunny with mixed clouds, and then finally to a moonless crisp night clear enough for astrophotography. It was no doubt a nightmare for wedding planning, but it was a perfect day for photography with some beautiful light for a beautiful couple.

"Should I Be Worried?" That is a good question. As of now, I will say yes. Even though vaccines are coming out, we still cannot let our guards down. I think it will take sometime at least 2nd half of 2021 for many restrictions to lift off.

As my wedding plans in Hong Kong and South Korea, I will have to see how things are before June. Right now, there are just too many hassles flying to Hong Kong or South Korea with self-isolation restrictions. Hopefully things will be better soon. :)
