webtoons - Lore of Olympus

HEKATE (Hecate) was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy. She was the only child of the Titanes Perses and Asteria from whom she received her power over heaven, earth, and sea.

persephone and lysander, back at it again at krispy kreme

since the hearty party theme is persephone's garden, it's only fitting to pay homage to a brilliant webcomic! it's bittersweet and kind of perfect, as well, since it'll be persephone and lysander's last hearty party at hogwarts. ♥

Projection at the first World Webtoon festival in Seongju-Dong, Seoul.

I came home from work and made this, sort of. Kind of clicked in my head, bit of an inspiration from a Webtoon Comic I used to read a lot of. Perhaps I'll catch up?

Now out at The Arcade.

My take on a manga cafe. Being a big fan of mangas/webtoons/comics for many years I wanted to attempt to create something inspired by that within SL. A big thank you to Eiji Lee, Jack Valentine, Titzuki Yuitza, Jasmine Stardust, Kasur Stardust and Fine Frankel for allowing me to use their beautiful pictures for the manga book textures in this project. I had a lot of fun making them.

And please do excuse my grammar mistakes, I used a lot of google translate for help which is not the best thing hahaha. But I do hope you enjoy all the little details and designs despite that~

I enter this contest every year. I love Fallen Gods. So I decided to dress up as my favorite fallen goddess from the web comic Lore Olympus www.webtoons.com/en/romance/lore-olympus/list?title_no=13... Behold, Persephone!

Just was playing with some of the color shift filter and it had a nice Hades Vibe, anyone else like that Webtoon?

I've recently become obsessed with the web comic Lore Olympus. It's the story of Persephone & Hades (among many other Olympians). Here is my Second Life interpretation of her, waiting for her Hades in the Underworld.

Find the comic here: Lore Olympus

Thanks for viewing!

This is a great colourful both good and fun Tarot. A friend has instructed that I look for good and fun in life. I thought that both have to be sought and found for a confirmation of any situation. I now find out that I might be mistaken and that any one either good, or fun is enough. My mistake to one side I can confirm that in The Trailer Park Warlock Tarot there is both good and fun plentifully erupting, combining and confirming at every turn of any card.

The Tarot is a very humorous look at the Tarot and at modern living. The Smith Waite, or Rider Smith Waite from 1909 has never looked more full of cartoon insight through a bright Trailer Park lens.

I was taking several pictures, using different lenses and light. Most involved a tripod and all were taken with the idea that I would be able to give details of the camera and make either one, or more collages. This is as far as I have got so far.

First off, if you have not read The Badguys, I advise you to do so immediately. It's one of the funniest superhero comics I've ever read, and you can find it free on Line Webtoon.

On to the figure. Doctor Zero is one of my two favorite characters, so it was a no-brainer to make him.

I sculpted his hair, his goggle lenses, and the wire on his gauntlet.

I painted on the zero symbol on his shirt, and his facial hair.

His boots, hood, goggles strap, shoulder bag strap, and gauntlet are e-tape.

I hope you like him! Also, let me know if any of you have read The Badguys!

So, if you read the last batch and thought it was a bit short, that's because you only saw about half of what I actually made, and the rest will come this weekend. Y'see I had at least over 60 pages made, and I thought that dumping that much was a tad ridiculous. So from now on every batch is gonna be split up into 2 or maybe 3 bits of 40-at-most, 20-at-least pages. Hopefully it all works out. Like the Instagram and Line Webtoon accounts I'm getting in order soon, so look out for that.

The scissors, tweezers, brush and glue were all virtual and all used in Photoshop to make a start at some ideas on a possible collage, or two.

Based partially off of the Lost in Translation Music Video youtu.be/qV_lcpLPZ8Q and Lore Olympus www.webtoons.com/en/romance/lore-olympus/list?title_no=1320, Both of which I highly recommend, and Hammer's contest gave me the best opportunity to post this. So here we go!

L-R: Dio, Persephone, Hades, Hermes, and Demeter.

Dio- An alcoholic minor god who goes in ajd out of rehab. He mainly is drinking buddies with Hades in spite of his dad.

Persephone- A young minor goddess that was sheltered and transformed to look like a nymph. Always followed her mother's rules, until she decided she had had enough, and decided to leave her home to pursue a more "fun" life, she felt lonely, sad, and such. Until she met Hades.

Hades- A major god that has grown tired of his life, what with his ex Minthe dumping him, and wanting something new besides dealing poker with other "evil" gods. That's when he met Persephone, and decided to help her out and show her the world.

Hermes- A mailman that often delivers stuff to all the other gods, he is the first and technically only best friend of Persephone. He helps Demeter try to find her.

Demeter- A goddess who has raised her daughter nearly since 1600s. After the witch trials, she decided to run and raise her daughter deep in the woods of Minnesota. She and her daughter lived peacefully, until 400 years later, where she ran off and this distressed her to the point where Zeus had Hermes go with her to search the planet for her daughter. She will find her daughter by any means necessary.

Kim Soo-hyun is a South Korean actor

*Kim Soo-hyun

Kim Soo-hyun (Hangul: 김수현; Hanja: 金秀賢) (born February 16, 1988) is a South Korean actor, model and singer best known for his roles as Song Sam-dong in the KBS TV series Dream High and fictional king of Joseon Lee Hwon in the MBC historical drama Moon Embracing the Sun.

*Cinema of Korea: Secretly, Greatly (Korean: 은밀하게 위대하게)

Secretly, Greatly (Hangul: 은밀하게 위대하게; RR: Eunmilhage Widaehage) is an upcoming South Korean comedy/drama film starring Kim Soo-hyun, Park Ki-woong, Lee Hyun-woo and Son Hyun-joo. It is based on the 2010 spy webtoon series Covertness by Hun, which has received over 40 million page hits.

Plot

A group of spies called the 5446 Corps were trained by North Korean elite special forces since their youth, ostensibly towards the lofty goal of unifying Korea. They are ambitiously dispatched to South Korea, where each disguises himself as a fool, an aspiring singer, and a high school student. Passing boring time without receiving any orders from the North, they gradually get used to life as ordinary neighbors in a small town until one day, their mundane lives are turned upside down when a "secret and great" mission is suddenly assigned to them. Due to the events of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, South Korea demands the names, location, and rank of 30 North Korean spies active in South Korea, promising financial aid to the North on the condition that Pyongyang turns in their spies. To prevent the elites from falling into enemy hands, the North Korean government orders dozens of active duty spies to take their own lives. Meanwhile their North Korean army instructor Kim Tae-won crosses the border to eliminate those who refuse to follow.

* 'Secretly' success shows teen power at box office

Filmmakers mostly tailor their products and marketing efforts to moviegoers in their 30s and 40s, who are considered the main sources of consumption in cultural products.

However, the massive success of “Secretly Greatly,” an action-comedy starring heartthrob Kim Soo-hyun, raises the question whether the industry has been underestimated the economic power tied to teenagers in non-children’s movies. While they might not often spend their own money to buy the tickets, they do have the talent to nag their parents until they do so.

“Secretly” is already one of the most successful works in a boom year for Korean films, topping the box office since its release last Wednesday and setting new audience records for the opening week.

The movie sold nearly half a million tickets on its first day and exceeded 3.4 million in just five days, representing a faster pace than any other Korean movie. The audience at theaters seems to be predominantly teenage girls and their parents.

According to a survey conducted by online ticket seller Max Movie, 45 percent of the over-30 customers who bought tickets for “Secretly” online said they are going because of their children. And more than 80 percent of them said their children were daughters. Many parents were also buying the tickets for their daughters but had no intention of sitting through “Secretly” with them. For most online purchases, it was the father who was typing in his credit card numbers.

To put it simply, the commercial power of “Secretly” relies on “daddy’s girls” and their affection for Kim, a baby-faced television star who appears ubiquitously in television commercials and print advertisements.

“What can be seen from the survey is that young girls wield power as consumers with their ability to persuade their fathers to spend. This seems to be especially the case with Secretly because of the appearance of Kim Soo-hyun,” said Kim Hyung-ho, an official at Max Movie.

“Secretly” is currently topping the charts on Internet portal Naver and Max Movie with 66 percent and 62 percent reservation rates, respectively.

The movie’s success defies critics, whose reviews were underwhelming. According to Naver, half of the country’s movie critics and journalists publishing on mainstream media outlets gave the movie low ratings. Predictably, the audience was much more forgiving, giving the movie 8 points out of 10.

The movie is about three North Korean spies who are dispatched to Korea on a mission to disguise themselves as a fool, a rock star wannabe and a high school student to monitor South Koreans and even their colleagues.

The three main male actors in the movie (Kim Soo-hyun, Park Ki-woong and Lee Hyun-woo) are all young, handsome with hunky physiques that may have made it worth watching for young female viewers, despite a few gruesome and violent fight scenes.

Alright, so after the snafu with my last remake somehow being bigger than the original and not really wanting to replace the original pages because I want people to go back and see the improvements, I'll just be uploading the remakes on their own. Also because my other sites I'm using (Tapastic, LINE Webtoon and Instagram) are pains in the ass and cap the sizes of what you can upload to stupid small limits. So actual pages can only go here. When I say "remakes" that's solely from an editing sense. It'll be very rare that I actually build and photograph anything new. Covers will also be altered, like Issue 1 here (though probably not to this extent. I COMPLETELY remade this cover). Like the new "Bloodfall" logo? While I'm still working on issue 5, these remakes are probably gonna slow it down a bit, so sorry.

The pages will be coming tomorrow here, but you can see the Issue 1 remake in a small, dumb format at my Tapastic page. LINE Webtoon will come in an even dumber form tomorrow as well. Solo pics from issue, behind the scenes stuff, WIP builds and whatever else I feel like vomiting onto it will appear on my Instagram.

Cinema of Korea: Secretly, Greatly (Korean: 은밀하게 위대하게)
