2016’s South East Bus Festival took place on Saturday 2nd April at Kent County Showground, and over 100 buses were on display. Free rides were given around the site, with opportunities to visit other heritage transport events and attractions. “User Generated Server Destruction” carries on a long tradition of self-destroying machines. The work consists, on one hand, of a mechanical installation and a server, and, on the other hand, a website hosted by that server. In the installation at the Ars Electronica Center, there are six heavy hammers mounted atop the server (represented by the housing of a PC). The hammers are first raised vertically with their metal heads uppermost. A click on the website releases their locking mechanism, whereupon two juxtaposed hammers swing downwards and smash against the sides of the server’s housing. This is repeated as often as it takes to destroy the server and thus take down the website.

So this evening I have felt a little bummed.
In relation to a simple query into a website host, I came home to discover this message in my inbox:
"really sorry craig but i feel you copy my ideas and style alot, really it upsets me so i dont want you copying my site too"
Now this upset me. Ive never intentionally copied an Artist's work, so I know I've technically not done anything wrong, but part of me was still shocked & upset at these comments. Friends have been very kind to me on facebook offering support on my behalf, and sounds like others have experienced said Artist's nastyness also.
I guess all of the tutorials on youtube about photoshop are copying said Artist too?!
Anyways, here is a simple but effective shot I edited.
Inspired by a thumbnail i saw on youtube, didnt bother watching the tutorial. Worked it out for myself and hopefully pulled it off without treading on peoples toes!
Very late uploading this one for Day 29, and another last minute (almost) pic of my evening meal last night. I took some chicken breast fillets (10) out of the freezer when I got up in the morning and put them in the fridge to thaw out, then in the evening I put them in this pan with some olive oil for 5 or 10 minutes then added some diced potato & parsnip (parboiled), frozen mixed veg and the contents of a can of low fat condensed soup with an equal amount of semi-skimmed milk. Then left that to simmer for about 25minutes. I had 3 chicken bits for my meal last night and divided the rest up to make another 3 meals.
Anyway, reason I’m so late is because yesterday was another very busy day, and I spent most of it on the computer sorting things out. I’ve been having slowness problems partly down to flickr being slow but also my PC so I did a scan at PC Pitstop which checks on performance, security and stability and lists problems and recommendations, then set about making adjustments etc. I know I need a new PC in the near future as this one is gradually eating up the free space. I also had to do some more work saving material from my AOL website, as AOL are closing all websites and journals on 31st October which is tomorrow! I had already downloaded all the graphics and photos etc., and saved all pages as ‘webpage complete’ but I’m not sure that will work once the websites are closed down, so I’ve copied the 3 or 4 pages I really want a copy of for the text mainly and the layout, so I’ve just been copying stuff and pasting into a WP - lot of work formatting everything. Anyway, that’s pretty well finished now. The sad thing is reading through the AOL forums that relate to website creation and see how many people are in desperation trying to save stuff and find somewhere else to start a new website. AOL don’t seem to care at all about the chaos they have caused, in fact they are now closing AOL Pictures on December 31st and suggesting photos are uploaded to a photo processing site they have linked up with. I don’t have anything on AOL Pictures, I read the T&C and I didn’t want to give AOL total control over my photos! Many people on the forums are saying they only stayed with the “extremely expensive” AOL because of the website space included, now that’s gone they will be gone - me too!!! Now there’s just one more day to look around my Barryville site before AOL shut it down. I’ve had problems trying to update it for ages now which is why it looks a bit of a mess in places. Now I’m looking for a new ISP and new website host.

Folded and assembled from 4 Modules, each from 7.5cm square Kami. This model uses 2 slightly different Modules. Inspired by Bob Neale's "8-Piece Pinwheel-Ring-Pinwheel" and created in 2001. The diagrams were first published in BOS Magazine 213 [April 2002].

2016’s South East Bus Festival took place on Saturday 2nd April at Kent County Showground, and over 100 buses were on display. Free rides were given around the site, with opportunities to visit other heritage transport events and attractions. The festival was organised in part by Richard Lewis, Arriva Southern Counties’ regional publicity manager, hence the Arriva UK Bus website hosting the event information, along with the numerous Arriva Southern Counties vehicles on display.
The two main themes of were the centenary of the East Kent Road Car Company Limited and the fiftieth anniversary of the closure of Thomas Harrington and Sons Limited, the Hove-based coachbuilder.
The hearts are inverted alternatively in this model. The modules are folded from 6 rectangular papers 2x1 [16cm x 8 cm] cut out from "Hoong Pows" [Chinese Lucky Red Envelopes]
The assembly is as per the Snowflake Module.
