Different modules can be combined. In this model, Modules from C and D are combined. Only the front are folded as per the modules, the back remains as the basic module A. It is possible to combine any of the modules from 2 to 6 different modules but then the star will not be symmetrically nice looking if more than 2 modules are combined. This is just one example and no, I am not going to do all the mix-and-match combinations.
This series was created in 1988 and published in Modular Origami [self-publication]
The model is assembled from 6 modules folded from 7.5cm square Duo-coloured papers. Numerous patterns can be generated by adding simple folds to certain parts of the module.
Diagrams are posted in my old website - web.singnet.com.sg/~owrigami/geomet.htm [not updated]

I hope you enjoy folding these and perhaps make your own variations and hang them on your Christmas tree. A very merry Christmas to all my friends and viewers.
From 6 sheets of 10cm squares of Elephanthyde paper. No glue but the assembly of the last module requires partial unfolding of the first module. Unwanted creases will show in normal Kami. Made this more than 10 years ago...almost forgotten about it. It resurfaced while I was clearing up the place. I will draw the diagrams later.
The diagrams are now posted at my new website, hosted by Nick Robinson at - www.nickrobinson.info/clients/owrigami/

Playing around with the layers, I added a "New" Variation H to this series. This variation quite similar to the 6-Pointed Star G. The back of the model is the Basic 6-Pointed Star A.
The model is assembled from 6 modules folded from 7.5cm square Duo-coloured papers. Numerous patterns can be generated by adding simple folds to certain parts of the module.
There are no diagrams for this "New" variation. The diagrams for the earlier variations are posted in my old website - web.singnet.com.sg/~owrigami/geomet.htm [not updated]

I have wondered why the mine closed suddenly in about 1913. I had guessed it was gold or silver prices that caused the eastern banking interests to call the note due that Pierre Peugeot had taken out to develop the mine. But a look at the history of gold and silver prices were constant during this time.
I thought, maybe it was WW I that made the banks shift their interest from mining speculation to war production that caused them to demand payment from Peugeot and forced him into receivership in 1911-1912--just months after reporting record shipping numbers and great improvements on the mine operations designed to improve production performance.
Maybe it was changes in banking regulations that forced the Chicago financiers to demand payment. In 1913 the Federal Reserve Act was passed by congress after several years of a national debate that must have shaken every banker in the nation leading up to its passing.
I suspect it was a combination of eventsand circumstances. In a website hosted by Utah's Division of Natural Resources covering the topic of Utah's Gold History two paragraphs give a hint:
"Gold production declined and many gold mines closed during World War I (1914-1918) due to a shortage of manpower, decreasing ore reserves, and increasing costs. During the depression in the early 1930s, gold mines were brought back to life and prospectors thoroughly searched the known and little-known gold-producing areas. Gold production increased rapidly when the government-regulated price of gold was raised in 1934 from $20.67 to $35.00 per ounce. This interval of increased productivity ended during World War II when gold mines were closed in 1942 by the War Production Board and were not permitted to reopen until the war ended. By-product gold, such as the gold recovered with the copper ores in the Bingham mining district, accounted for most of the gold produced during the war.
After the war, some gold mines remained closed due to the fixed selling price and rising operation costs. The active Utah gold-producing areas at this time included the Bingham, Cottonwood (Big & Little), East Tintic, Gold Mountain, Mt. Baldy, Ophir-Rush Valley, Park City, Tintic, and Willow Springs districts, and the Notch Peak (in the House Range) and La Sal Mountain placers, although some only operated intermittently or produced small amounts." (See: geology.utah.gov/online_html/pi/pi-50/pi50hist.htm)
This is the Traditional Japanese Tangram set. The 2 large triangle pieces of the previous set are replaced by two other different shapes and there is only 1 small triangle shape. In place of this, there are 2 medium size triangle shapes. All the shapes in this set have equal distribution of paper and therefore, they are all of the same thickness. The raw edges of the paper are all hidden and each shape is the same for the front and back.
The folding instructions are posted at my new website, hosted by Nick Robinson. Here - www.nickrobinson.info/clients/owrigami/show_diagram.php?d...

2016’s South East Bus Festival took place on Saturday 2nd April at Kent County Showground, and over 100 buses were on display. Free rides were given around the site, with opportunities to visit other heritage transport events and attractions. The festival was organised in part by Richard Lewis, Arriva Southern Counties’ regional publicity manager, hence the Arriva UK Bus website hosting the event information, along with the numerous Arriva Southern Counties vehicles on display.
The two main themes of were the centenary of the East Kent Road Car Company Limited and the fiftieth anniversary of the closure of Thomas Harrington and Sons Limited, the Hove-based coachbuilder.
This series was created in 1988 and published in Modular Origami [self-publication]
The model is assembled from 6 modules folded from 7.5cm square Duo-coloured papers. Numerous patterns can be generated by adding simple folds to certain parts of the module.
If the folds are repeated for the back, a hexagonal hole will be formed in the centre of the star. In this model, the pattern on the back of the model has the same pattern as Star A. .

Folded from a single 15cm square of Chiyogami paper from Thailand. The original model was created by David Petty. I added some modification to the model and published it in my second Hearts book. The book was later published by Japan Publications in 1996. In 2010, I added more modifications to give a plain surface on the little square on top of the heart. In David Petty's original version, that "little square" on top of the heart appeared as the same colour as the heart. This somehow distorts the shape of the heart.
The diagram page in the photo shows "Heart Corner Marker #2" which has edges meeting in the "little square" above the heart and some colours can be seen in the gap.
In the latest version, that "little square" appears as the same colour as the page of the book and the model has a more defined heart shape..
