ปาฐกถาพระไตรปิฎกแสดงโดยศาสตราจารย์โตอิชิ เอนโดะ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญพระไตรปิฎกปาฬิแห่ง มหาวิทยาลัยกัลยาณี กรุงโคลัมโบ ประเทศศรีลังกา ในนามสภาพระไตรปิฎกสากลแห่งประเทศไทยศรีลังกา และญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งจะได้กล่าวถึงเอกลักษณ์จากอดีตมาถึงปัจจุบันในการสืบทอดเสียงปาฬิ อันเป็นภาษาธัมม์เก่าแก่ในอารยธรรมอินเดีย และได้เดินทางผ่านจีนมาสู่ญี่ปุ่น ใช้เวลากว่า ๒,๕๐๐ ปี
นอกจากนี้ปาฐกถายังได้กล่าวถึงเทคโนโลยีต่างๆ ในอดีตถึงปัจจุบันที่มวลมนุษยชาติได้นำมาอนุรักษ์และสืบทอดพระไตรปิฎกปาฬิ โดยเฉพาะเทคโนโลยีเปิดรหัสต้นฉบับ (Open-source Technology) ซึ่งชาวไทยได้นำมาใช้เป็นครั้งแรกในการจัดสร้างฐานข้อมูลพระไตรปิฎกสากล นอกจากนี้ยังใช้เทคโนโลยีต่างๆ ที่เป็นมาตรฐานเปิด (Open Standard) ที่ประชาชนทั่วโลกสามารถเชื่องโยงใช้ได้ เทคโนโลยีมาตรฐานเปิดเหล่านี้ทำให้โครงการพระไตรปิฎกสากลสามารถพัฒนาได้ อย่างรวดเร็ว เพราะเป็นการสร้างระบบบริการอิเล็คทรอนิกส์ที่ทันสมัย (Tipiṭaka Quotation WebService) ซึ่งทำให้นักเทคโนโลยีรุ่นใหม่ทั่วโลกมีส่วนร่วมได้
ในอดีตพระไตรปิฎกปาฬิ มักเข้าใจกันว่าเป็นเรื่องของพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่ปาฐกถาครั้งนี้เป็นการแสดงความสำคัญของพระไตรปิฎกสากลในมิติวิชาการด้าน วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีเป็นครั้งแรกในมหาวิทยาลัยโตเกียว ระหว่างการบรรยายจะได้มีการนำเสนอภาพจดหมายเหตุพระไตรปิฎกด้วยระบบสื่อผสม เทคโนโลยีด้วย
มหาวิทยาลัยโตเกียวเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีชื่อในระดับ นานาชาติ การเสด็จทรงเป็นประธานการปาฐกถาของสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณ์ฯ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยนี้ เป็นการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ “ฐานปัญญา” (Knowledgebase) ในรูปแบบใหม่ โดยเฉพาะในทางด้านสหวิชาการ ปาฐกถาพระไตรปิฎกเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการพระราชทานพระไตรปิฎกสากลแก่มหาวิทยาลัย โตเกียว ตามรอยการพระราชทานพระไตรปิฎกในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๕ เมื่อศตวรรษที่แล้ว

Pretty lame picture for last Thursday. I didn't have time for much, after being the whole day reading about REST and writing a paper with a close deadline.
Funny ironies, reading a book about REST when I so badly need some real rest... Which I wouldn't get until two days after.
