A lovely morning of diffused light and previous rainfall made for some nice spider webs. Out came the macro lens :-)
Stumbled upon this spider's web this morning while on a walk before work. The web had pickup moisture from the night and morning's fog.
Shot for Looking Close... on Friday!, Curves
Another foggy foggy morning but I think it makes for some beautiful photos. I think the drops on this web really are beautiful!
Thank you so much for your kind words, faves and invitations to groups! I really appreciate each of them !!!

Up close with an Australian icon. The Redback Spider (Latrodectus hasselti), feared by early settlers, was historically responsible for 12 deaths . An antivenom has been available since 1956, and there have been no deaths directly due to redback bites since its introduction. The female spider, as seen in this shot, is much larger then its male counterpart and has the distinctive red stripe on its abdomen. The female 'digests' the male during a successful mating process, which seems to be unique to Latrodectus hasselti. Females reach around 1 cm in size while males are 3-4 mm when mature. Shot was taken with a 100mm macro lens. NSW, Australia

Je suis retournée à l'endroit dans le jardin où j'avais vu l'araignée précédemment postée et elle était là, fidèle au poste. Suivant l'endroit où on se place les couleurs du fond sont différentes car les arbustes sont variés.
I went back to the spot in the garden where I had found the spider I posted recently and it was still there. The colours of the background vary according to the angle from where I shoot because there are different bushes there with different colours. Loved those hues here.

I took this shot to get a closer look at the bottom left corner of the web on the adjacent shot, and how is had been attached to that lower twig to give the square, our cuboid shape of the overall structure. To think that you could just stumble through that unthinkingly, and destroy it, after all that engineering skill and work.
