I had too much fun trying to think up an appropriate look for a hard-bitten member of a Time-Genre Secretariat squad leader.
All the identical dudes are in the helmet and gear that came with the impulse pack for "Life on Mars." I bought four of them so that I'd have a four wheel set, naturally.
(And now, I can't help but wonder, where am I going to have Aphrodite and Clarence go for a date? Maybe a Golden Crown...)
I had ideas for just what it was that was "in the worst possible way" in the spider's imagination, but it's better to leave it this way.
And, to talk like K.B. for a moment, it's better to cleave things this way.
If you don't know "Oleanna," then there's even less humor to be had here - and "Oleanna" is not terribly funny at all. Interesting and provocative, yes, but I don't remember much puns or fish fights.
Ah, set design - so tricky. I remember one IWC strip in which shadows were used effectively for a prison, but I couldn't quite get them to work for me here.
Also, it's a big, bulky set which isn't terribly modular, so it can't be easily saved once the house is reorganized. No great loss, it just means that I need to finish up backstage and front-of-house for the theatre...
I needed the tan floorboards from the old new set, so it was time for a new set. I like he contrasts in the back instead of grey.
If only I had a 'fig that resembled Buster Bluth, too...

I'm not sure which is scarier yet.
If I had ever bothered to watch "American Idol," I probably could have done up a decent judges' panel for the liches and the spider. Alas, I've no interest in doing that.
Also, I'm glad that I have TV on the Radio playing in the background to scare away memories of Ashcroft's vocal stylings (as shown on "Colbert Report" so many times).
I'd imagine that a backstage hivemind would be quite something - and that such control would appeal to many stage managers. ;)

Jack Storm - The Island is a LEGO webcomic created by my good friend and LDD magician Pixel Fox. The first episode of this "Nate Drake meets Indiana Jones" story, can be viewed in its entirety here. I can't recommend it enough - read it, you'll be blown away.
This other scene takes place in a cave inside a volcano... Jack Storm (in blue) and Harvey are looking for an artefact - the guardian mask - but they are about to discover that as the name suggests, the item is well guarded!

The above scene is loosely inspired by the original story, I built it for the NCLUG display we had at the NC Comicon on 9 & 10 November 2013. My objective was to raise the awereness of the public towards fan made LEGO comics.

I've had to reduce the frequency of updates this fall; it's now going to be twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays, likely through until the end of December. Day job's become more demanding recently and I just don't have as much time and energy for drawing as I'd like. Hopefully I'll be able to go back to three times a week by the new year.
