I think that this is a tiny orbweaver of some sort because of the beautiful, but tiny web that it made in the azalea branches. This spiders actual size is about the size of a pen head and it's web about 4 inches by 4 inches, pretty amazing if you ask me, but I am a nerd, that goes without saying LOL :)
I used to hate spiders. This clearly is no longer the case.
Some of the awesomest things that drow create in the Underdark are Web Golems - tons and tons of valuable spider silk converted into a towering monster of doom! And of course it's teeming with spiders, what else would you exspect? It's funny, but some arachnophobes might be fooled into thinking that this is a non-scary creature until they look just a little...bit...closer.

interesting thing about this web, when i went back to look at it the next morning, the web was intact, but all the seeds had been removed. the fat spider was still hiding in its spot waiting to pounce.
I noticed raindrops on a small spider web in my front yard and took a few shots of it, this one from underneath the web looking up to the dimming light. It was already pretty monochromatic, but I converted it to B&W for a little extra punch.
