The boat glides silently, its bow cutting through the water without the slightest wrinkle. Before us, the Two Brothers stand, immutable guardians of the sea, their silhouettes sculpted in the azure sky. A peaceful journey to eternity.

Cold weater and very specific climatic conditions create a type of feathery frost by very cold days, on the river banks in the area of the Lachine rapids. The scenery is magical! especially when the sun makes its way through the fog.
Thank all !!!!!!

There are several Ruddy darters in my garden these days, especially when the weater is sunny. The males are red, the females golden-brown. It is a common dragonfly, but I enjoy seeing them.

Listed in the Charles Messier catalogue in 1771 is the magnificent Whirlpool galaxy. M51 can be found in Canes Venatici, close to the 1st star Alkaid in the handle of the big dipper. The galaxy shines at magnitude 8.4, making it a bright object to image. this photo is a stack of 53 images, but could do with as many again to improve the detail and reduce noise for a cleaner image, unfortunately the weater has not been very permitting this winter, so it may be a while before I get more subs.

Strong winds from the north have brought even more smoke from Canada's wildfires into the Great Lakes region. The air quality is in the unhealthy category for several days, reducing visibility to a few miles.

This is an early morning shot. 20sec exposure give this special look. The graveyard dates back to 1791 and lies very close to the sea. The old church was torn by the Germans during WWII. The chapel was build in 1951.
A weatherfront coming in. Småvik in the Municipality of Færder.
This is a seascape and a long exposure using Lee Filters The Super Stopper, amd a two minute long exposure.
A lovely winters day shot up in the Mountains of County Antrim near Slieveanora.
A good enough covering for the roads but not enough to completely cover the fields.
I love when the temperature makes the snow decorate the threes. We have had perfect weater for this lately, first snow, and then a little bit colder

Just one more shot to go in this series after this. Taken in my back yard, and even though it acts as an eye magnet, I decided to compose to include a wee bit of a Mountain Ash tree with its orange berries. I just liked the added colour.
I really like Cirrus clouds. They almost seem painterly. I have learned this morning that the name is from Latin meaning "curly hair" They reside at a level of 20,000 feet or more, and because of the low temperature at level they are made of ice crystals instead of weater droplets that so many clouds are made of.
