Yesterday me and my sister and her boyfriend went to the Festival of Colors at the Hindu temple in Spanish Fork. They have the festival every year to celebrate the coming of spring. SO many people go and throw powdered chalk at eachother. Music plays, there's some food, but mostly clouds of chalk everywere you go. lol It's a lot of fun. It was my first time going and I'm glad I went. Although I'm still blowing black stuff out of my nose from all the colors mixing together. lol This was around when we had first gotten there. . . yeah, you get colored quick. There wasn't a spot that wasn't covered by the time we left. lol
Good times!! Good memories with my sis and Dan. :D
As for today, I'm lounging trying not to think of going to work in a few hours. blah.
Day 14 : A picture of a random person.
Random Fact : My cleavage is stained purple, and when I was texting my sister last night to tell her, I told her my "carnage is purple" lol.
how many times do I have to tell her, over and over again . . . "don't reach into the mouth of my tyrannosaur to grab the camera remote ... he bites. he's a bipedal carnivorous dinosaur of the late cretaceous period, with powerful jaws and so, for him, biting is just a natural instinct."
We are young for Me Again Monday.
{ Another archive shot this week, thank goodness for them. I had a bad night last night and didn't feel inspired to take a picture - our chubby cat Sox has taken to lying on my pregnancy pillow with me and last night he wiggled onto me from it purring the whole time (this is how he wakes me up , its rather soothing actually) except now him lying on me isn't that comfy anymore as he is kind of heavy and with my stomach being squished upwards from the baby the pressure from both was too much and I ended up getting sick! Madness..This all happened at 4am and I felt so out of it today because of it! The joys of kitty cats eh! }
This selfie I did back in April on our little Nikon point and shoot - when Robins sister was visiting us with two of her kids along with another friend of ours from the UK and we were hitting all the typical SF sights. I used another shot like this before for another theme / bench shot, if it looks familiar to some.
I decided to upload this one because of this weeks theme 'we are young' because in the future, when I'm not so young, I think I will look back on this shot with a lot of sentiment. I didn't know at the time of taking it, that I was 4 weeks pregnant (I discovered that happy news the following week) so this picture is pretty much the last one of me before the world was to change forever.
Also it has Golden Gate in it...can't get enough of her!
So Happy Me Again Monday guys and girls! ^_^

"We Are Young" by Fun...
Discovered this song in a Chevy commercial during the Superbowl! It has such a fresh, indie-sounding chorus. Now it's topping all kind of charts.
SO IF BY THE TIME THE BAR CLOSES AND YOU FEEL LIKE FALLING DOWN, I'LL CARRY YOU HOME (tonight) - Composition Thursday

Nate Ruess of Fun. taking in the crowd last night at 9:30 Club. The place got so loud during the 2nd song of the night that he backed away from the mic and just took in all of the energy. At one point later in the show he had to quiet the crowd to, "finish the story" of one of his songs.
“Give me a second I need to get my story straight
My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State...”

Hey, I've been there to shoot the first burlesque shows at two venues now--I was at the Duck Room's first ever burlesque show, and now I've been at the Barnett's first ever burlesque show. THAT MEANS I WIN.
The show was pretty awesome. Pinny Yearned (pictured) came out dressed as an old lady to strip to Fun!'s "We Are Young". SinDee did one of her classic routines I hadn't seen for years. Fiona Flame was dressed all crazy elegant and sexy. Bryce Bordello threw a shirt on me.
I could have done with a lot more lighting. Much, much more lighting. I basically shot wide open apertures and hoped like hell my AF was good enough to track things at depths of field that shallow.
Also, Grace was there and managed to somehow to be dressed such that she was even more attractive than the first time I'd seen her, and the first time I'd seen her she wasn't wearing pants.
29th June
-So I am fully aware that this photograph wasn't actually taken on the 29th June, but there were so many photographs taken that day that I forgot I hadn't actually taken one myself! However, this was the picture I'd actually planned to take, just a couple of weeks late.... Anyway, this pretty much describes the day, and yeah, the word is made up of just a FEW of the hair clips my hairdresser used to put up my hair!-
Not a lot happened today... until about midday when it all kicked off, because today was my Year 11 Prom. Our school always allocates each prom a theme and this year ours was Diamonds (due to the Diamond Jubilee, much to my distaste). Anyway, I had my hair done around half twelve. It took two and a half hours but the end result was pretty awesome - she curled it all and then pinned it up really intricately, including little plaits as well. After that the rest of the day was spent generally getting dressed, putting on make up and so on - until Rosa announced it was photo time! There's a link at the bottom to her photographs of the evening.
Owen arrived at around half six in our vintage '50s Cadillac with a lovely corsage for me. Our driver told dad that it was a great drive, but the brakes weren't too good, and we set off to meet Becki whilst I wondered if I should be worried about the fact there were no seatbelts. After picking her up we headed to school with Elvis blaring out the windows, following an even more vintage car and a pony and trap amongst other things! There's always a huge crowd who come to watch the arrivals and Becki and I panicked about getting out of the car - we were both pretty sure we were going to fall flat on our faces, but we DIDN'T.
We were fairly early so watched most of the arrivals, which included one guy from our year driving a tractor, a motorbike and sidecar, a boat on land, a huge bus and of course a limo. There were lots of pictures of course, and then we headed inside after a whole-group photograph. We had a buffet meal and voted for prom princes and princesses which were announced after the food, and then the disco part started. It was huge fun (though I was pretty miffed that they just played club versions of every song) and over surprisingly quickly, so we headed home with sore feet...
...Only to leave again about ten minutes later having changed clothes (and shoes, into another pair of heels for me!) for the (in)famous after party! I arrived home - to stay, this time - at a bit after two in the morning, still trying to get my head around the fact that it was done, and that I had really left, this time. Theo was staying over for the night and we sat up talking for much too long.
