On April Fool's Day, demonstrators answered the rallying call by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and gathered for a day of protest at the seven gates of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) in Aldermaston, against Government proposals to replace the immoral Trident nuclear weapons system.

FORT BENNING, Ga. – Staff Sgt. Wilbert Martinez, tank commander, Company D, 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, assembles a .50-caliber machine gun during the U.S. Army Sullivan Cup competition at Fort Benning, Ga., May 7, 2012. Tis car was used from 1951 to 1987 to move nuclear weapons from the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas to various sites. It was part of the "White Train" which was repainted to be less conspicious. It is now at the Amarillo Railroad Museum.
