Why, why can't this moment last forevermore?
Tonight, tonight eternity's an open door
No, don't ever stop doing the things you do
Don't go, in every breath I take I'm breathing you
Euphoria
Forever, 'till the end of time
From now on, only you and I
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up
Euphoria
An everlasting piece of art
A beating love within my heart
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up
We are here, we're all alone in our own Universe
We are free, where everything's allowed and love comes first
Forever and ever together, we sail into infinity
We're higher and higher and higher, we're reaching for divinity
Euphoria
Forever, 'till the end of time
From now on, only you and I
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up
Euphoria
An everlasting piece of art
A beating love within my heart
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up
Forever we sail into infinity
We're higher, we're reaching for divinity
Euphoria, euphoria
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up
Euphoria
An everlasting piece of art
A beating love within my heart
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up
Euphoria, euphoria
We're going up-up-up-up-up-up-up...

“Public spaces have been essential to my work for many years, because they have this tremendous capacity to connect people not only with art, but also with the great architecture that surrounds it, and with one another,” said Jaume Plensa. “When Stephen Ross asked me to create a new, large-scale sculpture for the lobby of 30 Hudson Yards, I said yes immediately. The eleven spheres that make up Voices are composed of letters from eight different alphabets, to inspire people with the idea that while we come from many places and many cultures, we are here as one community.”

Ann's Norwegian and in Norway they call this the 'Ice Bird'
They very rarely breed their and
you'd be very very lucky to see one., neither of us ever have
But If we did it'd most likely be in the winter., thus the name... Ice Bird
How lucky we are here in the UK
Saying that for all the obvious reasons we've not exactly had a 'sack-full' of photo's this year!
Heritage Days in September are an opportunity to discover or rediscover interesting places steeped in history.
For myself, I revisited the downtown of Mâcon. We are here in front of the Montrevel hotel, built in the 18th century. The building became the city hall of Mâcon during the French Revolution.

J'ai pour ma part revisité le centre-ville de Mâcon. Nous sommes ici devant l'hôtel Montrevel, bâti au 18ème siècle. L'édifice est devenu la mairie de Mâcon pendant la Révolution française.

A silent faulty feeling
A silent fault
A silent faulty feeling
A silent fault
I sigh and fall to the ceiling
I sigh and run to the kneeling
Asylums for the feeling
Ran out of all the meaning
I ran out of
It's hard to fall believing
It's hard to fall
So many men are losing
While out there doing the proving
It's no surprise he is dooming
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Oh, don't suck it up, no
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Oh, don't suck it up, no
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Oh, don't suck it up, no
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Oh, don't suck it up, no
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Oh, don't suck it up, no
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Bring your friends, bring it all on
Oh, don't suck it up, no
We seem to need another
We need you all
While finding our own cover
We cover it all
I find my own completeness
The darkness and the weakness
The light, the fight, the quietness
We are here for you
We are here for you
Don't suffer alone
Tell us
We are here for you
We are here for you
Don't suffer alone
Tell us
View from the Zugspitze. The b/w conversion reminded me that these mountains are here for 1.000s of years... aeons... and they will be still here when humanity is long gone... Good for our planet but still great we are here and able to capture the beauty of nature and enjoy it as long we can :)
A slight change of position, crop and exposure time to a previous shot from the same trip. I love how you can slow down time in photography and smudge moments.
The title is a line from this poem:
Dover Beach
BY MATTHEW ARNOLD
The sea is calm tonight.
The tide is full, the moon lies fair
Upon the straits; on the French coast the light
Gleams and is gone; the cliffs of England stand,
Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay.
Come to the window, sweet is the night-air!
Only, from the long line of spray
Where the sea meets the moon-blanched land,
Listen! you hear the grating roar
Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling,
At their return, up the high strand,
Begin, and cease, and then again begin,
With tremulous cadence slow, and bring
The eternal note of sadness in.
Sophocles long ago
Heard it on the Ægean, and it brought
Into his mind the turbid ebb and flow
Of human misery; we
Find also in the sound a thought,
Hearing it by this distant northern sea.
The Sea of Faith
Was once, too, at the full, and round earth’s shore
Lay like the folds of a bright girdle furled.
But now I only hear
Its melancholy, long, withdrawing roar,
Retreating, to the breath
Of the night-wind, down the vast edges drear
And naked shingles of the world.
Ah, love, let us be true
To one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain;
And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night.
"We are here
to laugh at the odds
and live our lives
so well
that death will tremble
to take us."
Charles Bukowski
have a nice Sunday and a good start in the new week!

So we are here today at a secret jungle location near the Mary Booth Reserve at Kirribilli - but actually beneath the reserve right on the harbour where the giant Port Jackson figtrees cling to the rocks, along with photographers who also have to cling to rocks.
It's a new frontier. Viewing Sydney through the jungle-like branches and leaves of the giant figtrees here at Kirribilli.
And so here is Donald Fagen with 'New Frontier' from his album 'The Nightfly':

We are here in the haunted house "la Villa des Tilleuls". Many owners have come and gone, without ever living in this house. We would hear the night of the noises of chaines, coming from the basement. We can see cabalistic signs engraved in the entrance and the outer wall of the property has the shape of a coffin !! The village elders dont want to enter it. Before going there, I did'nt know this "legend" (?), off course !!

Rise. A friend of mine has given me sage advice to keep moving forward, not backward. To just be me. I owe only myself, and I will continue to give to that girl.
Loved playing with a darker image to get my face lit. Afterall we all have energy and light inside!
Though we've not reached the end
We should take some time apart
Leave here with no regrets
Knowing we gave our all
Oh, I cannot pretend
That this won't break our hearts
But we will meet again
I know the order's tall
But we could be so much more
Out of the embers, we'll rise from the ashes
Write in the stars with our names
That we are here, we are bruised, we are damaged
But the joy was worth the pain
Whoa-oh-oh-oh, love's a beautiful game
Oh, what a state we're in
But the war is far from won
Yeah, we did everything
Anyone could have done
We'll pick the pieces up
Put it together, we pray and hope it works
They say it's in the blood
And I know the order's tall
But we could be so much more
out of the embers, we'll rise from the ashes
And write in the stars with our names
(Whoa-oh-oh-oh) that we are here, we are bruised, we are damaged
But the joy was worth the pain
Whoa-oh-oh-oh, love's a beautiful game
a beautiful game
(Whoa-oh-oh-oh)
(Whoa-oh-oh-oh) a beautiful game (it's just a beautiful game)
a beautiful game
Out of the embers, we'll rise from the ashes
And write in the stars with our names
That we are here, we are bruised, we are damaged
But the joy was worth the pain
Whoa-oh-oh-oh, love's a beautiful game

Two of my outdoor kittens who 'adopted' me and my backyard. This photo was taken through the door window. They are semi-wild and do not stay around when I open the door for me to take better pictures of them.
Now you have seen what it looked like above and below the fog when I was hiking near Děčín in Bohemian Switzerland a few days ago.
Now the only question is, what does it look like in the fog? To find out, I followed my instincts and followed a path up the edge of the valley, which led me into a magical and fascinating world.
Where the fog has roamed the forests throughout the frosty night, it has covered all the trees and bushes with a thin layer of ice, giving the forest an almost unreal appearance. My first thought when I saw this was of a negative of a photo.
We are here at the lower limit of this area. The higher I got, the further I penetrated into the fog, the more intense this effect became. What you will also see in the following pictures.

I do have a carol in my heart for all my Flickr friends! We are here for each other as inspiration and support! Thank you for the past years and looking into the new one! Peace my dear friends and joy in 2015.
i've come to know and share with this community many events and happenings
i've come to cherish, enjoy and learn from all of you as well
i know that we all intersect in time space and event
i know that though we all are different and from many lands
we share one common bond.
we all live on planet earth.
enjoy the colors, the sunrise and sunsets and all that it offers
enjoy your life for tomorrow we may never meet again
know that while we may not agree or want to agree
we can agree on one thing. today we are here.
tomorrow is only promised to the living.

She is in Glasgow in the pouring rain and we are here in the pouring rain.
But two years ago August looked like this.
Just don’t expect me
To come back from this
In one piece
It’s alright for you
To suggest I live and let live
But how do I know I will survive it
Sounds more like a devil’s bargain
I could be trapped forever
In your unrelenting grip
Condemned to wander up and down
This stretch of road
Cheated on a whim
For eternal life
But now all alone
Left with just a view
And a bitter wit
To see how far I can spit
My angry words
Into the frigid air without a care
In a display of petulance
Like a dare

This third work in the Landsong Series as I now read it again expresses those anxieties that I was anticipating at that time of the covid pandemic; how do we survive it? How do we carry on?
And now we are here post covid, how do we interact with each other?
The world has raced on in a sort of panic, desperate to restore sanity.
I would venture there has not been enough time to recover. People need to take some time to be a human being again, one that is allowed to explore those mix of emotions that have put us in survival mode. We need to rediscover those connections that mean so much to us, and those elements that make us similar and those that make us different. We need to understand what and who we are, and how we want to go forward, and not be forced into it.
Time is priceless. You cannot get it back.
U2’s track “Bad” from the album “The Unforgettable Fire” was the only choice that really stood out to be paired with this work. There is a desperate beauty to it, that fitted so well with what I was trying to say, to give voice to the visions I was having where we all lost our humanity. This track is a live version, from the 1984 concert at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in the UK, and Bono’s voice just tears at your soul.

This work along with the rest of the series [and those yet to be added], are also available on my website with a new introduction and a viewing experience that is closer to the designed pages I print out for my own personal collection. If you wish, follow this link for a look:
Past from few days i have been thinking about life a lot n i realized one fact that to be alone gives you a lot of peace n gives you a lot of space to think about ur self. i think its the stage of my life where i can stand alone, but still be happy.
attachment was what spoiling my peace all the time.now i have slowly started to be on my own n not to be attached to any one...n i shud say i am really happy guys :)
so i want to dedicate this picture to all those who are standing alone to achieve some thing, to be one with the self n to realize there own self.
And guys please dont comment on my pictures for the heck of commenting [don worry i would still comment on ur picture :)....]
and don comment if u don mean it and plzzzzz don use ur templates to comment on my pictures.i feel we are here to share our thoughts through our pictures n not to make others to comment on our pictures. any comments and critiques are much appreciated
i am still a beginner so please feel free to express ur Thoughts.
Have a wonderful week ahead!!!
Thank you all !
True belonging is not passive. It's not the belonging that comes with just joining a group. It's not fitting in or pretending or selling out because it's safer. It's a practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are.
Dr. Brené Brown
Belongingness entails an unwavering commitment to not simply tolerating and respecting difference, but to ensuring that all people are welcome and feel that they belong.
John A. Powell
Today, if we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
Mother Theresa, Saint Teresa of Calcutta
The most important thing in all human relationships is conversation, but people don't talk anymore, they don't sit down to talk and listen. They go to the cinema, watch television, listen to the radio, read books, update their status on the internet, but they almost never talk. If we want to change the world, we have to go back to a time when warriors would gather around a fire and tell stories
Paulo Coelho
We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, ‘It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.
Fred Rogers
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
Winston Churchill
When we choose to wonder about people we don’t know, when we imagine their lives and listen for their stories, we begin to expand the circle of those we see as part of us.
Valarie Kaur
We must remain hopeful that a universal ethic of courage, caring, sharing, respect, radical compassion, and love will make a difference. We can never be too generous or too kind.
Marc Bekoff
I believe that we are here for each other, not against each other. Everything comes from an understanding that you are a gift in my life — whoever you are, whatever our differences.
John Denver
