Pun bitterly intended upon the meaning of “Fall,” as either the season (autumn) or as the movement (of leaves down, towards the ground). The shot juxtaposes such a Fall (of leaves) with the pictorial invitation to Ascend by climbing the steps that were once carved out from the rock.
It was as late as in the 1930s that these steps were carved out from the solid rock to replace the earlier used way of ascending: the last person recorded to have used the shaky and rickety rope ladder was in 1911: monk Eugene of the Great Meteoron abbey (monastery) fell off the cliff whilst attempting to climb up that old ladder.
The stairs lead to the remote and deserted Hypapantē monastery (abbey) dating back to 1367 in Meteora, Greece. The abbey was destroyed by fire in 1809 on the instructions of a notorious local Ottoman bully, based in Ioannina.
Hypapantē is the Greek word for “Candlemas” (Luke 2:22–38). The abbey is nested within the rock formation at a height of 230 ft (70 m) above ground.
Meteora is the name of the group comprising many impressive and lofty rock formations: The height of the sandstone megaliths ranges between 1,000-2,067 ft (300-630 m). The rock masses were formed 60 million years ago, are geologically unique and listed in UNESCO world heritage sites.

You just have to love the stitching capabilities of Photoshop. The Photoshop format of this stitch is 1.46GB, made out of 23 images.
It really took A LOT of time to get this image how I envisioned it to be. But enough about me this time ;)
What do YOU feel when you see this image?
How would YOU title it?

I think every person from Stockholm know this stairway.
It is situated at the famous Slussen. I liked how it is perfectly integrated in the stone structure and how great it looks from this perspective.
Together with Henry and Robert I will visit an Exhibition today and then shoot some UrbEx stuff. Oh I really need this. Havent done that in a long while. Of course I keep you posted with results from Stockholm as well as from today!

Lockdowns, travel bans, cancelled plans/ flights, chaos, shutdowns, panic buying, work from home.. these pretty much sum up the present, glum rollercoaster days! But it's important to hold firm in Faith and learn and grow from these experiences and to never lose heart or panic frantically. May the days of "social distancing"/ "house arrest", be days of self-introspection, trusting in God and to realize how much we love being with family and friends. For now, stay safe and healthy and follow the guidelines! Cheers!
P.S: No offence to pilots!

This place was rather unspectacular, even though it looked promising from the outside.
The highlights were this staircase and a dead cat, that started merging with the floor.
I even got photos of that, sick isnt it?

The "Sick Fearless Bastard" scored a DOUBLE PAGE in a big german TV magazine.
I feel so proud and happy.
Today Nathan came across so we split into three teams. Based on our local knowledge we visited two separate locations: Coire Dubh Mor of Liathach and the east end of Beinn Eighe. Nathan's team climbed 'Way Up' as two pairs, building their own belays and generally becoming more independent winter climbers. Once again glissades were in order with a swift descent off the south side of Liathach. More details later once Nathan has time!
Jim and Ian wanted to get away from the forecast westerlies so their two teams headed up from the SNH visitor centre to the wonderfully open wildness of Leathad Buidhe, Beinn Eighe. There we found some snow slopes which were ideal for building bucket seats, buried axe belays and belaying one another on open snow slopes. After lunch we headed onto some steeper ground on that 'big triangular face' above Kinlochewe. All of the students then had the satisfaction of abseiling back down from a snow bollard they had built themselves before heading for home.
Nathan, Ian and Jim thoroughly enjoyed instructing everyone on the first, but hopefully, not the last Cambridge University mountaineering weekend. A big thanks to Steven at Cambridge University for making this weekend happen.
Finally we would all like to wish James, Elena, Tom, Adam, Ursula, Mindy, Valeria, James, Vidya and Aiora well in their future studies, projects and of course - mountaineering!
PS. It is still not too late to arrange some superb winter climbing on Ben Nevis with one of our MICs.
