The Wolds Way is a long distance footpath across the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds countryside. It is 79 miles long ending at Filey on the North Yorkshire coast. At Filey Brigg, the footpath meets The Cleveland Way, another wonderful long distance walk. Fantastic walking country.

Here's a shot from a stop at the waterfront by the Benicia Bridge.
This was looking south, about 90 degrees from the sunset point, so the color was soft, yet imbuing. In fact, there was enough color to make the mud pink.
Anyway, thanks for having a look!
The Milky Way over the East of Belgium.
This very composition had been on my list for almost 4 years. But there's multiple variables that need to be just right (time of year, no moon, clear sky, good transparancy,...) and one or multiple were always missing. Those of you who are familiar with Belgium can probably guess which one presented the most issues (clear skies).
Add in the fact that there was a gap of almost a year where I wasn't able to access the area (Covid restrictions), and it all adds up.
In any case, finally bagged the shot and pretty happy with it.
Sometimes there are sign you can't ignore...
Have a great and delightful weekend ahead, my friends! :-)
We shot The Toadstools , near Kanab, Utah in the daytime, then returned to shoot it when the Milky Way was visible. I realized that I needed a warmer jacket and while exciting, it was painfully cold. Interestingly, Venus rose while we watched the Milky Way cross the sky and created an eerie optical illusion. Had not it been pictured on our cameras in one place, our eyes saw it jumping around the sky like no earthly vessel would have been able to accomplish. It had light stars, like sun stars, but more delicate and wavy. Quite eerie and wonderful. Here's a composite made up of a stacked exposure combined with a long exposure of the foreground (thanks to Cindy for teaching me this technique) and an exposure of the sky, showing Venus to above the horizon. I'm researching warm coats and welcome any suggestions. I have an arctic weight coat, but it is too large and bulky to travel with to all but he most extreme environments. Any recommendations?
The magic of the Eastern Sierras comes through to me with this image. While the moonlight diminished the brilliance of the Milky Way, it nicely lit up the mountains.
