Hi everyone, it's time to post some pictures again (been busy with a new house, building a garage, home cinema etc) and I look forward to see all your incredible images.

Thanks for wathcing and have a great holiday!
An American Robin made good use of our bird bath, on the first day of Spring! I love wathcing the Robins bath as they really move a lot of water.

The third and penultimate cat coaster in this series. This coaster like the others has been well used since arrival as a Christmas present last year. The vignette applied hides allsorts of atrocities with spilt drinks. Wathc out tomorrow for the fourth and final cat coaster but not necessarily the last cat object in our home.
Wathcing the sun set into sea haze. I was not having a good time, the lens wouldn't focus and I couldn't find a happy medium for the settings.

The last walk. After tea walk to wathc sunset from Haystacks ended with us returning to car at Gatescarth after 10pm. Sun was mainly hidden by cloud and High Crag, but a 5 minute burst that lit up the surrounding hills made the effort worthwhile!
Again it was clearer out west, and Ennerdale ind Pillar were getting some late (8.30pm) sun
Some wondering minds want to know, so they read the latest headlines. Others wander into a deep sleep.
I just wonder what they wonder about.
The annual astro camp of Hungarian Astronomical Association is held in Gerecse Mountain near Tarján (~50km southwest from Budapest). Every year ~ 300-400 amateur astronomers come together for common sky-wathcing in a long weekend. This year I was experimenting using a deep sky photo filter together with an all-sky fish-eye lens. During the three hours of the photo session clouds were continuously running through the sky resulting a quite surreal photo.
The field is being painted to red by the observing lamp of fellow amateur astronomers -- and to white by the lightnings of a storm cell flying through the northeastern horizon.

Occasionally does a splash and dash bath. I've not seen them sitting in the water and aggressively bathing like some other birds.
Sayornis phoebe
In 1804, the Eastern Phoebe became the first banded bird in North America. John James Audubon attached silvered thread to an Eastern Phoebe's leg to track its return in successive years.

The annual astro camp of Hungarian Astronomical Association is held in Gerecse Mountain near Tarján (~50km southwest from Budapest). Every year ~ 300-400 amateur astronomers come together for common sky-wathcing in a long weekend. This year some technical failures prevented me to complete my original photo plan so the second dawn I was just lurking on the observing field, watching into some telescopes, watching the crowd, the sky and I tried to compose them into a photo. This is the result.

Used the new lens to take a capture of this old ceramic Christmas Tree. This was a gift from a great aunt to my Grandparents ... and now been passed down to me.
Placed this in the center of our dark family room and then manually focused in live view before taking the long exposure in the dark.
Of course the dogs were wathcing me from the couch in the dark, just happy that I was not turning the camera on them ;)
Ok folks, this is it. Here is my first video project (external link to Vimeo):
vimeo.com/21419634 You don't have to comment it, BUT I RECOMMEND WATHCING IT!! :)
It is a 4min timelapse video of the Northern Lights. All sequences are shot in or close to Tromsø in Northern Norway. - Feel free to share it or tweeter it. -
I have spent over 6months collecting footage for this, I have shot approx 50.000 stills to choose from in making this video. A goal for me has been to try to preserve the real-time speed of the northern lights, or come as close as possible, and present it the way I experienced it, instead of the northern lights just flashing over the sky in the blink of an eye. It may work on other time-lapse videos with fast movinig clouds and sunsets etc, but with the northern lights in focus, it should be presented in it's true speed to reflect her beauty, imo. In the video I have put together a collection of slow moving auroras in the woods, over the mounatins, in the city, in the foreshore, reflected in the sea, with some of the most spectacular and strongest auroral outbreaks seen in many years. Included here is a coronal outbreak, in which I am particularly happy to present, since it is very difficult to get on stills, even worse on "film".
I got a fantastic soundtrack made for the video by local musical talent in Tromsø; Per Wollen. A Huge thanks goes to you Per obviously! The audio track "Aurora in the sky" can be found on iTunes.
Also, with two small children at home under 2 years, it goes without saying I could never have done this without the fantastic understanding and help from my girlfriend. This has been an insanely time-consuming project. Both hours after hours out in the cold, but also all the hours in post-processing during late nights has led to a severe lack of sleep. And although you always feel like there is something you could have improved, even slightly, before releasing, you come to a point when you just have to finish. And that time is now.
Thank you so much Veronica flickr.com/photos/velectronica/ for letting and helping me finish this project!! Love you! :)
Also, I would like to apologize to many of my friends for being so occupied the last months. Looking forward to spend more time with you all now.
A huge thank goes to Jay and dynamicperception.com/ for their awesome timelapse gear who made some of the sequences in this video possible!
Per and I would also like to express our feelings for the tsunami victims of the great people of Japan.
The video shown here on Vimeo is 1280x720. It may be also available in 1920x1080 and Digital Cinema HD 4K. Contact me for higher resolution. Video may not be used commercially or public without permission.
Footage has been prepared for viewing in sRGB color space since this is the space most people use. Hence wide gamut displays may display colors wrong, especially green ones which the aurora mostly appears in, since the most clipping in color space when downscaling to sRGB is done in the green color area.
Hope you like the video.

24th December, watching the sunrise in Hua Hin, Thailand.
The sunrise was a little bit disappointing because of clouds. For me, it was still great. This time of year, I'm normally used to cold weather with snow.
Have a great Saturday
