We didn't stay for the judging but Sandy and I gave this man the prize for looking most like his dog. The dog wasn't a Komondor or Puli, but a water spaniel with dreadlocks or cords.
Yep, that's Benni and Don behind them.
I'm falling more and more in love with this girl. She is a bundle of energy, quite entertaining and incredibly smart, we've already learned a few tricks! I am enjoying every minute with this little imp! =)

The American Water Spaniel, native to the lake country of the upper Midwest, is an upbeat, outdoorsy athlete who loves to hunt and swim. They are known to be happy, eager, and charming, though aloof with strangers and a bit stubborn.

Maya is attached at the hip and when she ventures too far she'll quickly bounce back to me.
I uploaded a Video of Maya doing her newest tricks that can be views here. As well as a new photo of her stacked out like a little show dog here.

Maya is an 8 week old American Water Spaniel (AWS)! She is something else, we were friends the second I took her out of her crate at the airport today. The fearless little girl took no time at all adapting to the new house and taking over Eve's dog bed of toys. She's claimed Eve's Sock Money for her own and carries him around with pride!
I'm in love already...
There are a couple more pictures of Maya and her Sock Monkey in her set here.

Totally shot this blindly since someone decided that when you are playing tug you have to run behind mom nearly tripping her before tugging...

My Little Brown Dog is not the easiest subject to photograph but I usually end up loving what I get. I'm going to have my hands full next week when I attempt to start my 52 Weeks of the Imp!

Maya is my new shadow! She follows me around everywhere like she is attached by some invisible string. The couple of times a day we go out to play in the big yard she never ventures far. Here she was playing with a dried up palm leaf she found, pushing it up against my leg trying to show me just how cool it was.
Miss Maya is also very vocal, she never barks for barking but is frequently found bouncing, grumbling, and barking at her toys. Most times while she is upside down with a toy on top of her. She is just too much!
Fiddled in Lightroom with this one =)

Here comes my lil Bandida ready to terrorize all the birds in the neighborhood! haha I've been dying to use this hat on Maya ever since I bought it. With her registered name being CH Kei-Rin's Bandida de Offshore I think it appropriate.
Okay so I know I upload too many head/expression shots on this furchild but I so love watching her expressions and reactions to everything. Yesterday she found herself a little spot under the tree to observe Viv and Marco running around with their tennis balls. I really can't wait to start up some training with little Maya, she is going to so love Agility and Rally.
I had intended to take more than one photo this month but life has been getting in the way. We move to the new place next Thursday and I just can't wait to jump into the new business. You can see our current thoughts for the logo, we wanted something simple and easy to use as a photo watermark as well as making T-shirt/uniforms and other products. We felt the circle/stamp would work best. Love the turtle and the design on the shell which was done by our awesome artist friend Shelley.

My little Imp is fearless, tackled the scary drop of the pool like a pro. Future Dock dog! She keeps demanding pool time.... This was only her second time in the big pool and she is now officially launching rather than plopping in like the first time. I attempted to upload a video but it was not co-operating, I will try again later. The more she jumped the less hesitation she had. What a good little Imp! ;)

Water spaniel by the edge of a river,
wears a forget me not from his collar, and a fish swims at his feet. about seven inches tall.
The background material is hand loomed linen from France, probably late nineteenth century, lots of wonderful repairs and patches. Form Penelope's linen loft on Etsy, she has such great old fabric.
I've tried to remain loyal to the general idea of the Staffordshire Spaniels, but added some of my embellishments as well. I've got some Stafforshire style cats ready to paint too.

So proud of my lil Imp this weekend at her first show. She is only 8 months old and she had fun and showed like a pro, the judges loved her. She won an Owner/Handler Group 1 & 2!
So yea, not what I was planning this week but when the girl does her usual stack out to watch something when I actually have my camera in hand AND she is the proper distance from me I can't help but use it as her weekly pic.
This card project was privately funded, developed and created by a group of like minded selfless individuals who are involved in animal welfare and have witnessed first hand the extreme overpopulation crisis here in the greater Phoenix area, surrounding cities and counties.
Pet overpopulation and crowded shelters are not unique to Arizona as we live in a Throw Away Society and unfortunately pets are discarded and forgotten with an Out of Sight Out of Mind Mentality .
Please give shelter pets the opportunity they were denied and so desperately deserve.

The show stuff just flows right out of this one, that is when the future Agility star isn't trying to dominate! I'm not sure if she can actually keep all four on the ground, I think she may have been born with springs attached to her feet. =)

1. Sneezing humans are annoying and I don't have to listen to that racket! I'll return when you quiet down!
2. Given the choice I'll take the 30 cent tennis ball over the $9 indestructable chew toy.
3. Dog food? Left overs? No contest! Why do you think they call me 'Prewash'?
4. A good day? Sniffin' dog butts at the dog park.
5. Toilet water tastes best!
6. You can rub my head for 5 minutes. That's a good start!
7. Why yes! I did have an accident in the house while you were at work! Yes, I do know where the dog door is! Wanna throw the tennis ball for me? What's for dinner?
8. Woof! It's 10:00 at night. It's time to go to bed! I'm ready to go to sleep! No, I don't care who's on Dave Letterman!
9. Woof! This is your dog. This is your dog's leash. Your dog wants to go outside. Get your fat butt out of that La-Z-Boy and take your dog for a walk!
10. Tissues and toilet paper are delicious! You can try to hide your tissues but you know I'll find them! And that toilet paper on the roll is fun! Just grab the end and run! It's pretty too when it goes all the way down the hallway!
When someone is expected to be coming home Addison waits patiently to welcome them. Well, actually she's waiting to jump all over them begging for attention and treats!
