Detail fountain
The fountain of Venus is the symbol of love, fertility and birth. Venus is the Roman goddess of love and beauty. She was born from the foam of the sea. The fountain of Venus fits well into the palace garden, as the goddess Venus is the patroness of gardens and vineyards. But in the 17th century everyone understood that it was also a reference to Princess Mary, who traveled by sea from England to the Netherlands to marry Stadtholder William III.
We were out Kayaking with another couple in our tandem boats when others needed to pass. We had purposefully come to a tight inlet where seals could be seen sunbathing however, it was feeding time and none were present. Although minutes prior to this shot, one came to within 20 feet or our Kayak to have a peek at us, then bolted with a splash. All the basic colors were present, from red to green, from yellow to blue, and more. The entire spectrum delighted our eyes with a treasure trove of visual sensations.

Well, I've finally processed through most of my images from our recent trip to Katmai NP. Of course, the brown bears were the big star, but there were a few other subjects ... birds and small critters, as well.
In this image, this beautiful brown bear invited us to join him/her in the water, so that's just what we did. Of course, the deal was that we were not to take any of its salmon swimming around us. LOL. While some bears are busy working the falls, many of the younger sub-adult bears, or those sows with cubs, use other areas of the river ... much less crowded and much less competitive.
So bear with me (pun intended) for some great Alaskan fun, starring the brown bears of Katmai.

Anna van Egmont:
Anna van Egmont (March 1533 – 24 March 1558) was a wealthy Dutch heiress who became the first wife of William the Silent, Prince of Orange.
Anna was born in Grave. As the only child of Maximiliaan van Egmond and Françoise de Lannoy, she was suo jure ('in her own right') Countess of Buren and Lady of Egmond. She was also Countess of Lingen and of Leerdam, and Lady of IJsselstein, of Borssele, of Grave, of Cranendonck, of Jaarsveld, of Kortgene, of Sint Maartensdijk, and of Odijk.
In 1551 she married William the Silent in Buren, and thereby he earned the titles Lord of Egmond and Count of Buren.
