On our first morning at Uig we headed out onto the sands at dawn to have an explore. Despite light rain and an apparently cloudy sky, the sky to the west turned a diffuse pink/orange which was nicely reflected in the loops of river. Here I used ICM to try to give an impression of the colour.

Land's End, Cornwall. I seem to be doing the rounds of "honeypot" photography locations in West Cornwall. I have been revisiting a lot of places before the summer hoards arrive and we are imprisoned in Penwith for the whole of August. Having lovely evening light even in the current foggy weather helps to give interest.

The Devon Artist, Paul Hopkinson, puts the finishing touches to a watercolour painting based on my photograph of a Pine Marten. To see examples of Paul’s outstanding work and learn how to paint realistic wildlife, go to: devonartist.co.uk

Looking out from the National Gallery of Victoria - water flowing over the glass makes the scene look watercoloured.

I was messing around with filters, and most of them looked a bit crazy?

But I quite liked the look of this watercolour effect.

A earlier shot it was a little blurred so gave it a watercolour effect.

Watching through some photos of older times I found this little picture of sunset reflecting water, seen at the moor lake of the Himmelmoor. How beautiful the world could be...

Macromondays - medium

Convalescent in hospital many years ago, I painted a simple scene.

I guess this crude house and some touches of purple represented security to me at that time. This is just a detail.

I had it framed on the wall at home for a while but it has been confined to a folder of photos since then. I'm glad I kept it as it made a subject for today.

Thank you for all visits, favs, and especially comments - much appreciated!
