These are the Charlton comics characters DC would’ve used for Watchmen.
On that cloudy morning the Tre Cime di Lavaredo were standing like dark watchmen in the rugged landscape of the Sextner Dolomites.

Here is a rarely seen view of Zion National Park.
No, actually, there were about 40 photographers all lined up shoulder to shoulder shooting this sunset. This was from last Friday, that magical day of shooting in Zion. The morning started up rainy and crappy, then in came the low storm clouds that swirled around the park all day. It finally ended with THIS! Spectacular sunset.
I was there with Chaybert and Rob. They had been there the night before, when the sky was gray and the light was flat. I hadn't arrived yet. The two of them were alone on this bridge, hoping for a sunset. Chaybert cracks me up! While the three of us were shooting this, along with 37 other people, he yells out... "Where were all you people last night, when it SUCKED!?"

Night watchmen, dressed in their traditional uniform, used to go around the city turning candles off and informing the community that it is time to sleep. Today, at 8 pm, they start a small tour around the city telling its stories. Worth to take this tour.

I made this wallpaper.
Just some simple effects to the background of the image leaving the casket carriers as is.
Day three of the workshop found us down west of Nogales in the early afternoon for a spectacular storm...but then it was sorta of a chillax chase up and down I-19 the rest of the afternoon. Storms looked to be dying out as we headed into north Tucson after dark, and we actually talked about where to go eat dinner. But then some convection started going up north of Marana in the Park Link Road area, so we of course kept going. Four bolts popped out of that storm while we were driving (argh!) and then it died. And as per usual my buddy John Sirlin was already there, he sent me a preview of one and naturally I hated him outright for being ahead of me 😂😂😂
But a storm started to kick off west of Mammoth and as John noted, it was in a nice sheared environment with a good supercell composite. It somehow kept that storm rolling towards us for about 90 minutes with CG's blasting every 5-10 seconds.
This was shot from the roof of my truck to try and see over the thick vegetation along Park Link Road. 15 second exposure...just as the storm got within a mile or two of us. This is for sure one of my all-time favorite lightning strikes already, with the saguaro "Watchmen" standing stoic in the desert as chaos rains down around them.
A heck of a night for my workshop, it was so amazing to see how excited and even a bit nervous Karen and Paula were during the whole thing. Some of those bolts got close at the end! And before and after this we shot Milky Way, got some Perseids, hung out with John and Aspen and had one heck of a party :) More tonight!
The OGs! I've never made a set of these guys before, but I got the Hydro-Man figure from Far From Home and I really wanted to make a Dr. Manhattan with it. I know I had seen someone use the head/torso for him before, or at least suggest it, but I think the addition of the LBM Nightwing legs are new. The other guys are definitely inspired/taken mostly from a couple other people.
In case anyone was wondering, Rorschach's mask is Sharpie on some Scotch tape. Nothing too complicated lol.
Taken in an underpass leading to a metro station. There are hundreds of little shops in the underground tunnels linking to the subway. You could stay down here all day and do your shopping!

I traveled with a group of friends over the summer to checkout a few National Parks. The camp sites were first come first serve, so we hoped that a camp site would be available for us. We arrived at Zion National Park super early in the morning at 4 am with fingers crossed. After waiting for a few hours in line, the park ranger hooked us up with the "honeymoon suite", which was her favorite spot at south campground, and had great views of the "Watchmen". This photo of the "Watchmen" was taken during the soft light of the early evening.
So,as promised, here's my updated take on The Watchmen, after displaying my attempts from long long ago. I'm not yet 100% sold on these, as they're kind of a combo of the movie designs and the comic designs, and I'm more interested in the comic designs. I feel like most of them could be improved in some way, but until then, here they are!
The Comedian: Jack Sparrow head, Ninjago armor, Winter Soldier torso, CMF Rock Star legs.
Silk Specter: Seriously one of the hardest figs I've ever tried to put together. Nexo Knights hair, Rey head, Luminara Unduli torso/hips, CMF Swimmer legs.
Doctor Manhattan: Went with his Spandex Onesie cause there's never figs of him in it. (badly) modified Electro head, painted Tony Stark torso.
Ozymandias: CMF Dog Show guy hair, Young Obi-Wan head, Magneto torso.
Nite-Owl. Couldn't figure out a mask for him that I liked, so I left him exposed for now. Freemaker Adventures hair, Frodo head, Bats V Supes Batman torso reversed.
Rorschach: Reversed Ventress head, CMF Fighter pilot torso, Bats V Supes Batman legs.
I'm sure I'll revisit these someday, but until then, let me know what you think. Comment if you fave, por favor.

Uralte Huteeichen am Rande des Westberg mit Blick auf das Diemeltal.
So everyone’s been doing watchmen stuff and after rewatching the movie I plan to make a few more figures that aren’t The watchmen like the Bernie’s or moloch with those elf ears the movie version has. Until then I got this a modern version based on the idea of the hbo series being set in the modern day.
You know who’s who I’m sure but I’d like to know your favorite mines Rorschach with ozy being a close 2nd
Also in my almost month of inactivity I’ve updated around 20-30 of my dc figures so now I’ll be doin a couple pretty big fig barfs in the not to distant future edit: thanks to quade for pointing out rorschachs head doesn't fit with his name, sorry bout that at least he looks cool
I've purchased very few of DC's "Absolute" editions of comics as I think they are generally a cash grab and not worth the expense. I have two copies of this one, one for me and one put away for my son.
I really enjoy the fact that every time I read it, I find something I hadn't noticed before.
I usually try to keep my comic builds closer to the all ages side of things, but I couldn't resist the chance to do this one.
The cover to the Watchmen trade had stuck in my mind from the first time I thought about doing a "Comic Bricks" cover and the time finally came to shake it loose.
“There's a notion I'd like to see buried: the ordinary person. Ridiculous. There is no ordinary person.”
It wasn't easy snowshoeing all they way over to this point for sunrise. I was glad I had company. And it could have been much worse if there had been fresh snow. At least there was some nice alpenglow on the snow just after sunrise.
I don't go often to Pittock Mansion to take pictures of downtown, mostly it's because of those blasted trees that occupy the foreground. However, this day the sunrise was fairly nice and this crop I think really adds to the emphasis of Mt Hood. I like to think of Mt Hood as our watchmen, always looming over and taking care (nevermind the fact that he's a dormant volcano...)
Inspired by my favorite comic-book.
Rorschach's Journal. October 12th, 1985.
Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."
This group is pretty popular among purist creators and so I wanted to give a shot at making them.
L-R: Ozymandias: wish I had yellow hair but he’s a pretty basic fig overall, Rorschach( wanted to use a head I owned rather than making one and it looks alright), comedian( ik the hair might not be the most accurate thing ever but I just wanted to try smth new from the good old BvS Superman hair), Nite Owl( helmet is more unique than Batman cowl and doesn’t stick up that much so it looks pretty cool), Silk Spectre( not to special wish I had a more better variety of yellow torsos but it is what it is for now)
Top: Doctor Manhattan( hydro man parts would work better but I have to do with what I have rn so ye 😕)
Kaiju Dan inspired me to post some Watchmen I'd be putting together after posting his own. Also shoutout to mostlylegostuff for the use of the helmet on Nite Owl and whoever else came up with using the Overwatch piece for the button and the Indy journal for Rorschach.
The Watchmen is such an iconic landmark in the Zion National Park.. Autumn in the late afternoon is best to see the mountain glow from the setting sun...
The boys watch in awe as the weekly 747 takes off for the UK. An epic scene that probably captures the extent of their wonder and excitement.
'Cause they're not actually called "The Watchmen" in the book.
Last time for these guys, I promise. Not that there's anybody on here anymore. Heh.
Minor updates here and there, except for Spectre, who's had a major update.
Also got sick of trying to make a Doc Manhattan so I bought a minimates version. He glows in the dark. I like him.
This is ripped from my instagram so it looks real bad.
Cheers, all.
