What seems an ever changing list of what can or can't be recycled.

The building on the right is a new waste resource handling center in Copenhagen. At the same time, it is a skiing center as they built a slope on top of it. Who would have thought about Denmark for alpine skiing.

A contestant in in the front end loader division manages the diminishing clearance challenge.

The object is to drive through sets of barrels that gradually get closer to within inches of the trucks width.

GMTX 3306 is a fine-looking, snoot-nosed "SD40-2" that's heading towards North Platte, NE on the UP Kansas Sub. This is at Menoken Jct., on a westbound manifest out of Kansas City. I believe that it has now been rebuilt as an SD38-2. From what I understand, the unit is bound for a Waste Management landfill near Arlington, OR, across the river from BNSF's Roosevelt Yard.

This unit began life as the UP 3415 in 1978, and after a stint in a truly awful-looking LTEX/PRLX patch job, it ended up in fresh GMTX blue and white. Now, it's resplendent in this new "Waste Management" scheme that's quite reminiscent of the old BN scheme.

'Commingled' is the correct way to spell the term applied to collecting all material together for reprocessing, a waste industry expert has claimed.

And no, you may not have my banana!"

Castroville, California

I thought this truck was really cool when I first saw it considering it's a rare split body. The first time I ever saw a Mack LE Wittke Express in California was out of the Carlsbad yard, and I remember Trashman590 telling me it was also a 60/40 split many years ago. Last year, I was randomly looking up trucks in WM's fleet software and turns out this is the same truck from Carlsbad. I was pretty surprised to find out that it ended up all the way here in Castroville. Unfortunately, it was scrapped along with most of the other cool trucks.

Castroville, California

Organics was still a relatively new idea in the Peninsula cities at the time, so WM had this truck done up to advertise their service. From what I was told, the program was a pretty big success, but was discontinued when GreenWaste took over.

Heard this noise outside and looked and this huge truck was dropping off a big recycle bin.. Couldn't imagine what the neighbor needed anything as large as that truck bed .. Well he was cleaning out his garage .. They picked it up today... Happy Truck Thursday, Everybody!!

Irvine, California

One of the remaining CNG Mack MR Wittkes left in Irvine. This has been the frontline bulk truck for the City of Irvine for many years. I love how these trucks sound and operate. Definitely hope to head out to Irvine again to find more of these CNG Macks.
