Our time is running out
the sun’s almost coming up
Is it too late to fall in love tonight?
’cause I’m falling hard
Can’t believe how fast the sparks can fly
when the stars align…
After the storm passes you will always see the top of the lighthouse appear first as if to smile at you and say, I'm still here! I'm OK! Although close to the shore, it can be really wild and angry with some huge waves here, particularly against the nearby seawall. I really think the light house at New Brighton is one of the prettiest, in an intereesting environment, with Liverpool Docks, Fort Perch and so much more. I'm surprised it doesn't have a nick name such as "The Pearl of the Mersey", or the White Lady of New Brighton...or perhaps it does and I just don't know it. Other suggestions please on a postcard...
I love the intro and outro to this song. If you listen with headphones, you can hear ambient sounds of people at the beach or something. Anyway, I’m pairing it with this image that was taken at a water feature we have in town. It’s the closest we can get to the beach around here. ;)
Must admit I was hoping for a more colourful sunset but sometimes you have to just take what you are given! At least there was some colour in the sky.
More stairs in the Newport Street Gallery. I've actually done very little to this, I quite like the washed out look.

A commute not matter how spectacular is a commute.
By posting older shots of NY in between shots of NZ it makes me look like a true globe trotter!
I saw this vintage, model car in a store window, and had to take a photo. :) It looks like it needs a little TLC. Don’t we all? ;)
Today is International Women’s Day. There are two films written and directed by women that I’ve seen recently that made an impression on me. They are difficult films to watch—addressing emotional and sexual abuse against women—but are powerful, timely and important. What I love most about these films is that they ultimately illustrate the strong and loyal bonds between women as colleagues and friends. I hope that you will watch them.
1) She Said directed by Maria Schrader and written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz
2) Alice, Darling directed by Mary Nighy and written by Alanna Francis
Happy International Women’s Day! #strengthineverystory
Well, that really didn't turn out as I thought, but time was running out, so I posted it. Sometimes it's probably better to scrap and idea and find a new one, but I tried to keep going.
It became an attempt to make something that looked like a hot votex. The overexposure of the orange card behind the off white plastic does make it a little confusing to the eye I think.
Lesson learned about choice of subject and lighting... until the next time anyway.
