While waiting for a sunset shot on Iona Beach, I spotted this distant shot of the sun peaking out over Vancouver Island. I quickly changed from my 24-70 to my 100-400 and got this shot in my bag!!! I really love this picture...
A fairly warm October is ending, and we can feel the chill of November approaching. These little asters or Michaelmas daisies in Erba Park have been able to hold on until now, but their color has lost its summer brightness, and they are fading fast. The annual cycle moves on . . . Similar shots with a 35mm prime didn't turn out quite as well, so here's one with the kit zoom (on my backup camera). [DSC06261_lr_2000]

It is a beautiful weekend, warm weather, blue skies and vibrant fall colours. It was a great day for a hike, and to get started on some fall photos. This hike however, was cut short. After a few photos, I noticed Bandit had a bad limp, so we packed up and headed home. He is still favouring his paw today, but is at least putting some weight on it.
We will definitely go back when Bandit is feeling better to explore this trail in further detail.
Cold days and nights are nearing and for some they are already here......make sure you have someone or something to help keep you warm...
