86-0166, a McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle of the US Air Force, taxiing towards RWY24 at RAF Lakenheath, ready to depart as "Wardog 2" for a training sortie.

Part of the "Grim Reapers", the 493rd Fighter Squadron based at RAF Lakenheath, this aircraft is currently counting down its days until its well earned retirement. With the re-activation of the 495th Tactical Fighter Squadron and the recent deliveries of the first 7 out of 27 of their new F-35A Lightning II's to RAF Lakenheath, the 493rd Fighter Squadron is due to stand down in the coming months, with their C & D model F-15s due to return to the USA.
