The Annapurna Circuit is a trek within the mountain ranges of central Nepal. The total length of the route varies between 160–230 km (100-145 mi), depending on where motor transportation is used and where the trek is ended. This trek crosses two different river valleys and encircles the Annapurna Massif. The path reaches its highest point at Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 ft), reaching the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Most trekkers hike the route anticlockwise, as this way the daily altitude gain is slower, and crossing the high Thorong La pass is easier and safer.

The mountain scenery, seen at close quarters includes the Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda. Numerous other peaks of 6000-8000m in elevation rise from the Annapurna range.

But as long as there's a road

My feet will never touch the ground

And if you won't give my heart back

I've no need to stick around

An old man passing his time looking at life on the street, outside a cafe in Dharamkot, Himachal.

I got this shot while having Sanji's special milky way breakfast at his cafe. The old man shied away when I was trying to click him, but on the way out he greeted me with the most satisfying smile and namaste! Such moments just make you fall in love with life.

It is a myth about King Shivaji's beloved pet dog "Waghya" that when he saw Shivaji Maharaja’s body being cremated, he jumped into the burning chitaah of Shivaji Maharaj and ended his journey of life.

One can see the massive pinnacle Lingana at the left of the statue. It is situated between Raigad and Torana Fort, another famous trek route for we trekkers.

This breathtaking valley view can be seen from Shivaji Raje's Tomb behind Jagdeshwari Temple.

We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time.

T.S. Eliot -- "Little Gidding" (the last of his Four Quartets)

Kaza, a largest township and commercial center of the spiti valley has very similar terrain, culture and climate to the neighboring Tibet and Ladakh regions. It is situated along the Spiti River, 200 km from Manali and at elevation of almost 12,000 ft.

Chandratal a.k.a Moon Lake is mostly famous for being a glacial pool midst Himalayan Ranges. Its mystic blue colored water and the beautiful reflections of snow covered mountain peaks attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Besides that, being located pretty far from the civilization and pollution, one can experience views of Milky way galaxy at late nights.

Had to spend 2-3 hours in a chilling night with two layers of windcheaters on just for a single shot! But, I guess, it was worth it.

Dhang or dang means cliff, and kar or khar means fort. Hence Dhangkar means fort on a cliff. Dhankar Monastery was built as a fort monastery on the Central Tibetan pattern. The complex is built on a 1000-foot (300-metre) high spur overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers – one of the world’s most spectacular settings for a Gompa.

Dhankar is 32 km away from Kaza and elevated at 3800 meters

Takmak Tok was an execution point used by Shivaji Raje's administration to punish prisoners and criminals to death by throwing them off.

The rock face inclines down over 1200 feet and presents a tremendous view of the Sahyadri hills and its dropping crevasses and over-folding edges.
