Notes: George Norman Barnard (December 23, 1819 – February 4, 1902) was an American photographer most well known for his photographs from the American Civil War era. He is often noted as G. N. Barnard. He was the official army photographer for the Military Division of the Mississippi commanded by Union general William T. Sherman; that position mostly involved photographing and documenting fortifications, bridges, and documents. His 1866 book, Photographic Views of Sherman's Campaign, showed the devastation of the war. The book includes 61 albumen prints including Nashville, the Chattanooga Valley, Atlanta, and Savannah. He took the photos while operating under General Sherman's command. The book also includes a studio portrait of Sherman and his generals. After the war, Barnard ran photography studios in Ohio, Charleston, South Carolina and Chicago. His Chicago studio burned down in the 1871 city fire. In Rochester, New York, he briefly worked with George Eastman, the founder of the Eastman Kodak Company.

Construction date: 1923 - Architect: Nigel Walnutt - Sculptor: Richard Gross.

It was not until 1923 that enough money was raised to erect this memorial. The architect, Nigel Walnutt put the Italian marble statue of the Cambridge Soldier, plinth and lion, in the middle of a cross. The sculptor was Richard Gross whose great desire to give something worthy without consideration of cost to himself in labour or expenditure, made it possible to erect such a poignant monument at so little cost. £2,000 was raised and the contractors were A & T Burt of Auckland. The memorial was unveiled on 11 December 1923 by Governor General Viscount Jellicoe.

It has recorded 74 men from World War One and subsequently 77 men from World War Two, plus a memorial plaque for the Korea and Vietnam wars. The ANZAC Day service has been held annually in Cambridge since 25 April 1916. Firstly in memory of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers of the Army Corp who lost their lives at the Gallipoli Landing during World War One, and since then for all soldiers.

The shadows on the little crepid house come from a couple of old walnutt trees alongside the small river called "de Vliet" in the village of Eikevliet, Belgium.Everywhere in Flanders you'll find quaint little villages sometimes even hamlets full of hidden places and natural beauty.Today I thought ; lets get out the old bycicle and take some shots. My urge to photograph has become almost a disease or addiction.More and more difficult to escape from.Mornings I wake up hoping that today, the light will be excellent.Through photography, I can master the chaos in my head, and become one with my surroundings.Thoughtless, flowing with Time.

Origin: Germany. Circa: 1825. Period: 19th Century. The clean powerful lines of this antique walnut table possess a modern feel quite at home in today's contemporary spaces. Designed and constructed using the finest timbers in the early 19th century this antique Biedermeier period walnut table showcases stunning walnut with a potent pattern. All of the veneers used in this Biedermeier table were hand selected for their matching quality and ability to enhance the circular shape of the table. The top, edge, apron and base of the table all exhibit the masterful placement of the walnut grain. Especially the top with its arrangement of pie wedge sections of walnut that surround the central medallion of brilliantly patterned burl walnut. Shop@HighBoy
