Watching what you say or do around a certain person, because anything might set them off

It is impossible.

The thin fragile shells collapse with the weight. Step gingerly with care or heavy with distain … it is inevitable to hear the shattering break.

All have sinned. We each leave a trail of fragmented eggshells.

Proverbs 20:9

Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?

Ecclesiastes 7:20

Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.

Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

I saved these silly eggshells for months!!!! My fiance and my family saved them for me too. I washed them so they wouldn't smell.

With Easter upon us, and these bizarre, worldwide circumstances as they are, I remembered this gorgeous treasure hanging in my china cupboard. Since we never put up a Christmas tree, but instead, assembled a simple white branch with lights and an elegant collection of hand-crocheted snowflakes (thank you Dear Terry) which now remind me of stars, I decided to hang an ornament which is well over 100 years old! This was constructed from a REAL eggshell!

Today has been rainy and stormy but with an incredible peacefulness. Blessings to all who do or do not celebrate Easter . . . it is still a Holy time, and I'm in awe at how we humans have come together to help one another get through the most surreal time of our lives . . .

"Ye Gilded Boob. / You think that you are: just it, / With your monocle [kid gloves] and ten-dollar hat."

A vinegar valentine that pokes fun at pretentious fools. The reference to a "ten-dollar hat" may come from the saying, "He wears a ten-dollar hat on a five-cent head," suggesting that an expensive hat can't make up for a lack of intelligence.

For a similar valentine, see Oh! You Lobster.

Second in a series on remaining silent. Swallowing that painful lump in your throat.

walking on egg shells

how many times have you kept your mouth shut so as not to upset someone or lived in fear of an angry tyrant? how many times must you remain silent until it hurts and swallow your inner truth so as not to be heard?

frankly, i'm tired of the bullies, tyrants and dictators. i refuse to walk on egg shells and let my truth be heard whether they get loud, angry or worse.

find your inner voice, stop tip-toeing, gather your courage and stand up for yourself or someone that needs your support.

first in a series - more to come

But a lifetime of walking on eggshells.

I have a terrible habit of walking on my tip toes. I do it without even realizing it. I wish I could say its a bad habit from ballet lessons but I never took ballet, I am not the most graceful person. I am the complete opposite, I am too clumsy. So I have come to the conclusion that its a habit picked up from a lifetime of walking on eggshells. I have always tried to please others and keep everyone else happy that I am constantly having to walk on egg shells for others. Not a very healthy habit, I should stop huh?
