Swondon - Wales

The scenic view of Wales in Swondonia

a perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon and learn how to use shutter speed correctly!

I'm not there yet but I'm pleased with my first attempt

the weather was hot and sunny except on the last day .

Caught this view of the Strumble Head lighthouse in Wales just as the fog bank was closing in from the right. 5 minutes later the light was shrouded.

Like the northern lights I completely missed out on the rare appearance of snow down here this week. North Dorset, Wiltshire and even Weston got a dumping but nothing whatsoever on the South Coast.

Still what can beat seeing snow covered mountains? Taken handheld with my 200mm lens which has been repaired (after I slipped on ice and dropped it). I was £500 lighter but I'm getting it back through my home insurance and it's like a new lens. Result!

I bet North Wales is even more beautiful this week but its maybe unlikely I'd be able to get around.

Have a lovely weekend x

we rented this lovely farmhouse in quiet Wales for a family reunion in October

A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles.

Brecon Beacons, Wales.

Sundown at Llyn Teifi, Wales

A trip to the Brecon Beacons. We were very lucky with the weather although Storm Orphelia did pass through on the Monday night.
