The terrace of the Ratskeller which is situated on one of the inner courts of Munichs cityhall, captured from the tower of the cityhall.
I met these two waiters (cousins, by the way) in the old city. We talked a little, and they asked me what I did for a living. Teaching, I said. One of them - the one in green shirt - said something like "I miss school". He told me that his school was closed down after the intifada (don't know if he meant the first or the second), so he hadn't been to school for the last 12 years.I asked, how old he was. 20, he said ...
It was desserted at this time around 4 pm..we hardly saw anyone, which was why Guadalupe was free to roam about and taste samples.

TOKYO - FEBRUARY 25: Male waiters, wearing women's clothes, pose for photographs at New Type cafe on February 25, 2010 in Tokyo, Japan. Dressing up in female animation characters by men had been a kind of "taboo" even with Akihabara's "Otaku" culture followers, but as the culture expands more widely, a variety of styles have been accepted. The customers at the cafe are both men and women with women customers saying they enjoy communicating with friendly waiters and male customers enjoying talking with the waiters who they can relate to as both men and women. This was in Kyoto along the street that everyone waits to get geisha photos. I assume these waiters and cooks cook in one place then take the food to another place, some on bikes.
Two people waiting for just the right moment. They are about to start a late afternoon, early-autumn, leisurely swim/float down a stretch of the River Rhine in downtown Basel. This is a common and much-loved activity here. People float down a km or so, get out, walk back upstream and do it again. Swimmers usually take along a "float bag" containing clothes, etc. Even though this stretch of the river is right in the middle of the city, it is plenty clean enough for both fish and people. Location: Basel BS Switzerland.
