The new kid in town the W Hotel competing with the Hotel Arts. Already making a name for itself by building a temaporary tennis court on the terraces that stick out on the left. To promote the Barcelona Open tennis tournament (which was very good) Verdasco and Soderling played a game, out over the sea, no borders, no safety nets nothing. It was just a knock about but you should have seen their faces. & quote "How could my agent do this to me??" www.barcelonaflats.co.uk
Inspired by Ansel Adams photos, I realized this b/w landscape.
The shot is taken at San Michele di Pagana, a Rapallo's suburb. I like reflections, and you?
W Kościeliskach w nocy
Kazimierz Przerwa – Tetmajer
1
Cisza. Noc. Na zaćmioną dolinę Kościelisk
idą z gór lasem rosłych, z upłazów i jarów
tajemnicze milczenia w mgławicach oparów
wznoszących się po cichu z wodnych oparzelisk.
Głucho warczą strumienie po głazach swych ścielisz,
las śpi. Na nieruchomą, czarną toń konarów
padł, wschodząc przez wyrwany wśród wapieni parów,
miesięcznego przedświatła srebrzysty obelisk.
Fosforyczną białością powlekły się ściany
nagich, skrzesanych turni; wielka cieniu rzeka
ogarnie je i niesie w mroku oceany.
Wszedł księżyc: na wierzchołku zaczepił się smreka,
rozdarł się na olbrzymich dwóch gwiazd błyskawice
i kiście świetlanych kolców wbił w nieba ciemnicę.

I've tried a b&w version of this picture. There are some features that I don't like, but I share it anyway.

Charles W. Morgan under restoration.
She has more below the waterline than one might imagine.
The video is kind of long but gives some idea of the involved restoration process.

B&W Macro is something I have been playing with of late and I kind of like the results - more structure and, I think, a bit more clarity of image.
Premises of Bronson's Dry Cleaners on right
Photographer : George Hutton
Date of original:c1950
Mr. E. W. Bronson began his dyeing and dry-cleaning business in Port Adelaide in 1904. Initially, he operated out of a small shop on Commercial Road. By 1918, the business had outgrown these premises, prompting him to purchase the old Glanville Brewery in Ethelton. It became renowned as one of the finest dyeing and dry-cleaning facilities in Australasia, capable of handling everything from delicate garments to heavy carpets.
Mr. Bronson's business expanded, establishing branches in most suburbs, two in the city, all country towns, and even a branch in Broken Hill. The business also offered Bronson's Delivery Service, utilising a fleet of vans to collect and deliver parcels of garments.
Did you know that South Australian dry-cleaning firms organised the "Summer Girl" contest in 1943 to support the YMCA military service appeal, with a goal of raising £1,000? Various teams raised funds through events such as dances and concerts, with voting cards available at the events and participating dry cleaners. The "Miss Bronson" team, for example, hosted a social and dance at Semaphore Park Hall and a gymkhana at Alberton Oval.
In May 1943, Miss Dorothy Shea, "Miss Bronson," led the "Summer Girl" contest with 36,755 votes. She had been in the lead since the beginning of the competition and was declared the winner at the Summer Girl Ball held in the Adelaide Town Hall on Saturday, 8 May 1943.
