DGS Zschornewitz - Bitterfeld (RBB), am Abzweig W420 bei Gräfenhainichen. Das abzweigende Gleis führt zum Abzw. Jüdenburg (-Ferropolis/Oranienbaum), der Zug kommt von Zschornewitz (Anschluss Imerys) und wird nun in weitem Bogen nach Burgkemnitz fahren, um dort auf die DB-Infrastruktur zu gelangen.

Huile sur toile, 172 x 193 cm, 1876 (W 420), musée de l'Ermitage, Saint-Péterbourg.
Ce tableau est l'un des quatre panneaux décoratifs (dont deux au musée de l'Ermitage, W 416 et 433 respectivement aux musées d'Orsay et de la Chasse à Paris) commandés par le financier E Hoschedé, pour orner le grand salon du château de Rottenburg à Montgeron. L'étang de Montgeron a constitué pour C Monet une retraite qu'Argenteuil ne lui avait jamais offerte. Si la scène y est sans issue, sa profondeur par contre est infinie. En éliminant le personnage féminin de droite (probablement Alice Hoschedé, sa future femme avec qui il vivra à Giverny, après la mort de Camille Doncieux, sa première femme) et en ajoutant quelques nymphéas à l'étang, nous pourrions presque confondre cette vue avec une oeuvre réalisée à Giverny. C Monet ne semble ici préoccupé que de resituer les impressions produites par la surface miroitante de cet étang, captant les fluctuations de la lumière qui filtre à travers le feuillage des arbres et créant un monde intime et personnel.
A présent en effet, toutes les références à la vie moderne, notamment celles d'Argenteuil, ayant disparu, ses préoccupations, qui faisaient bien sûr depuis longtemps partie de son art, en viennent presque à constituer la totalité du sujet (cf. P Tucker).

No, it is a Maybach, but it is based on the S-class W420. I really like it!

A few items that mean a lot.
The book is Handels Messiah open at her favourite piece "I know that my redeemer liveth", dates from 1902 and was given to her by her best friend Mary.
She loved the pearls a gift from my father as was the ring that she treasured so much.
They are all placed on her bible, something that she read quite often and was a source of knowledge that she passed on in her time as a Sunday school teacher at St Peters Church in Horbury.
Since her passing in 1998 I have not gone a day without thinking of her.
God bless you mum and I know that I will see you again one day.

This is one of four decorative panels commissioned by the financier Ernest Hoschede, amongst the first patrons of the Impressionists. Together with three other works by Monet ("Corner of the Garden at Montgeron", St Petersburg, Hermitage; "Turkeys", Paris, Louvre; "The Hunt", Paris, priv. coll.) it was intended to adorn the large salon of Hoschede's country chateau, Rottenburg, at Montgeron.
The works were created at the very height of Impressionism. Setting themselves the aim of conveying a brief moment in the changing existence of nature, the Impressionists filled their works with vibrant light and air. For these masters of plein-air painting, the symbol of the dynamism and changeability of nature was the broken, rippling, transient reflection in water, and this it is which forms the central theme of this landscape.
It is possible that the barely noticeable silhouette of a woman with a fishing-rod is Hoschede's wife Alice, later to become the second wife of the artist.
