Texas Highway 118 -

62 miles south of Alpine, Texas, United States

This was a rare capture of two abandoned VW microbuses in a field north of Terlingua, Texas. But my original post from 2010 was...frankly...uninspired. I think this is a big improvement.

That's the end of my trip to Vegas for Viva Wildside. My next trip is probably going to be October but who knows with Covid and scheduling. Hope you enjoyed the pictures~!

Recorded approaching Kamenné Zboží, Central Bohemia in May 2025, ČD Cargo 388 001 had a consignment of VW cars on ARS Altmann Laaers in tow being transported from Pirna Gbf, Germany to Nymburk for onward delivery.

'Volks Wagen' means 'People's Car', has been in existence even before the Second World War. The purpose of the company was to make cars for the people; specifically, to create a car that could carry two adults and three children at speeds of 100 km/hr and could be purchased for 900 Reichmarks. It was to be simple yet reliable; functional yet inexpensive. The Beetle, commonly known as the 'Bug', easily met these expectations.

My Dad had a red '63 and my first car was a yellow '72. There's certainly something to be said about the simplicity of an air-cooled 4-cylinder VW engine.

Untaxed since April 1992. A total surprise this one, the auction catalogue is regularly updated on the Morris Leslie website, but this stunner wasn't there when I last looked - but all the better to just catch a glimpse of it today and think WTF. It doesn't get any better than this.

After a nice rest after the pool party, we were ready to dance. Too bad the music situation was a mess...

I'm pretty sure my old pair looked like this but in a smaller size.

This was taken outside Freezone, an LGBT club off-the-strip.

I'm trying to work a poses in this pictures. "Trying" is the key word here.

What better way to cool off in the 100 degree heat than a pool party. Back in October, I wore a swimsuit out in public for the first time. I was a bit shy about it. Well, I'm back with a new swimsuit and lots of pool pics!

Here's a picture with my friend Lotus in a pool cabana.

Photos from around the Cosmopolitan Resort. This one from the second floor of the Chandelier Bar.

It was supposed to be disco night at Backstage Bar & Billiards in Downtown Las Vegas. The whole night was sound system issues, DJ issues, and horrible house music that was definitely not disco.
