The void that lies beneath that is . It is a whole new world down there under the manhole covers , I have peered down thousands and been down hundreds in my surveying days and my short stint as a Dyno-Rod engineer . Some are so small with just a 4 inch pipe just underneath the cover but some are extremely deep with massive pipe sizes - on one job another team come across one line big enough to get a double decker bus along it !! In all cases though , they are never fresh and clean and sometimes a strong stomach is needed - far worse than bodily waste though is when there is a blockage caused by fats !!
This old retirement home stood 3 stories high, and had some left over remnants, and is wide open to vandalism!
Ever catch yourself just staring at something and not really seeing it, or anything else for that matter? Mind a blank. Unfocused.

"Touching The Void"
Another shot from Switzerland. This time fro the top of Klien Matterhorn - Elevation 12740ft.
It was 26 degrees and clear blue sky when we got our 1st cable car and 3 cable cars later it was -3 degrees, and nothing but clouds, snow, and skiers.
I noticed these skiers in the distance and only got 2 shots. Just as quickly as i took the shots they were quickly swallowed up by the mist.
