Agave vizcainoensis. I love the imprinted patterns on Agave leaves that remain from when the leaves were developing in their tight bud.

Agave vizcainoensis Black and White. I love the imprinted patterns on Agave leaves that remain from when the leaves were developing in their tight bud. I think the black and white helps bring that out a little better than color.

These sand dollars are nice to find in one piece!
Scientific name:Dendraster excentricus.
From Wikipedia: Dendraster excentricus is an irregular echinoid that is flattened and burrows into the sand, unlike the regular echinoids,or sea urchins. It can be found living in the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Baja California. The range for Dendraster excentricus is larger and includes the range of the other two extant species of Dendraster: D. vizcainoensis and D. terminalis. The flower pattern in this species is off-center, giving it the species name excentricus.

Used PicMonkey to edit picture... cropped it, used the dodge/burn to darken parts of the overexposed shell, softened the whole picture to the maximum, then excluded the shell... leaving the shell in detail, then lightened the edges of the picture.
