(EN): A behind-the-scenes look at capturing the Common Goldeneye's courtship display. To truly reveal the bird's nature, I had to drop down to its level using the Tragopan HOKI hide. This perspective transforms the scene, making the bird appear almost graphic against the water's surface. This production was realized using two different camera bodies and two distinct lenses to capture various angles and dynamics of the behavior, ensuring complete coverage of this spectacular ritual.
(PL): Kulisy uchwycenia toku gągoła. Aby w pełni ukazać naturę ptaka, musiałem zejść do jego poziomu, wykorzystując namiot leżący Tragopan HOKI. Ta perspektywa całkowicie zmienia scenę, sprawiając, że ptak staje się niemal graficznym elementem na powierzchni wody. Materiał został zrealizowany przy użyciu dwóch różnych korpusów oraz dwóch różnych obiektywów, co pozwoliło na uchwycenie różnych kątów i dynamiki zachowania, zapewniając pełną dokumentację tego spektakularnego rytuału.

The primary technical objective was to capture the static beauty of the Goldeneye's courtship posture while maintaining a perfect mirror reflection on the water's surface. Working from the Tragopan HOKI low-level hide in the specific light of Norway required precise exposure control to avoid blowing out the white plumage. The Nikon D500 sensor combined with the Nikkor 200-500mm lens allowed for exceptional detail retention at ISO 100, while the Benro head ensured the stability needed for such a low-angle composition.

Głównym celem technicznym było uchwycenie statycznego piękna postawy godowej gągoła przy zachowaniu idealnego lustrzanego odbicia na powierzchni wody. Praca z niskoprofilowego namiotu Tragopan HOKI w specyficznym norweskim świetle wymagała precyzyjnej kontroli ekspozycji, aby uniknąć przepaleń na białym upierzeniu. Matryca Nikona D500 w połączeniu z obiektywem Nikkor 200-500mm pozwoliła na zachowanie wyjątkowej szczegółowości przy ISO 100, a głowica Benro zapewniła stabilność niezbędną przy tak niskiej kompozycji.

Full of humble crystalline water.
She wanted people to see,
How beautiful was her precious treasure.
But, no one,
Nobody, never,
Laid eyes on her.
Crowd skirted the girl,
Like a stream around a rock.
Every step of the way,
Was beautifying her beloved bottle,
But even though,
She remained a ghost for the world.
No scream nor beam,
No laugh nor tear,
Would never ever change.
Her eyes statued to endlessly see,
The only beauty she ever knew.
Alone,
She was alone,
Walking toward high seas.
Once reached the Ocean,
The girl did not even stopped.
Her flooded hands oppened the bottle,
While her steps tunred into fathom.
Below a gloomy and full moon night,
The lonely girl was surrounded by twinkling lights.
Since the beginning,
Her water was full of glowing and fluorescent creatures,
Souls that may only be revealed under a full moon sky.
She was the only one who knew.
By a full moon night,
Merging with shadows of trice and Sea,
The girl of the Ocean disappeared,
Into the abyss of time.
And no one will ever know,
This stirring spirit of the sea.
