I am doing a sort of "Light and Dark" thing for my final in Visualization class. I really didn't like the project or how I was going with it before I started to put it together and now I think that I like it a little more. Maybe when I have the last two to the set I will like it even more still. Hopefully.
But for now, this is what I have for my Visualization final so far.

I have stopped putting watermarks on my work, cause I don't really like them. But my work is mine and I want it to stay that way.

For this week I took pictures of a still life of my hockey skates. I decided to take these pictures because I thought they would be an interesting subject and I thought that I could tilt them to different, interesting perspectives. I decided to make a diptych because I had to good photos and wanted to incorporate both of them in my concentration. I took them both at a studio in my school. For the picture on the left, I tilted the picture on the table and I bent down and got an eye level picture of the skates, focusing on the front. The right picture was taken looking down on the skates, showing the laces. I think that the diptych looks week because it shows two different sides of the skate so that the viewer can visualize the entire skate as a whole. The last thing that I did was to convert both pictures to black and white, and then boost the contrast to make good values between black and white.
Realizing I had never really been terribly thoughtful about the kind of man I wanted to meet, I sat down and created a visualization board and started with more well-known men as examples. Men I know will surely follow. This is in response to Danger Amy's List, if I understood it correctly.

What is data visualisation? It is a process that involves gathering unstructured data from a variety of sources, modelling it, and displaying it in an organised and legible manner to improve decision-making.It uses visuals like interactive graphs and charts to communicate data, making it more appealing and easy to understand for all sorts of people.

and now, a change of pace. having a bit of 'imager's block', and so decided to do a good old fashioned Gas Giant With Starscape. this is also a teaser for work to come in 2004 (i'm still archiving 2002), but since my new experiments in archive visualization are bogged down, i decided this would be a good alternative.
