Label reads:" 1981 EDEN VALLEY RHINE RIESLING This wine typifiies the philosophy of Krondorf Winemakers Grant Burge and Ian Wilson which is to produce high quality table wines exhibiting distinct area and varietal Characteristics Each year only the highest quality Rhine Riesling grapes from the Eden Valley area are selected to produce this wine. The high altitude of the Eden district ensures cooler ripening conditions giving wines of elegance and finesse. Using controlled temperature techniques the winemakers were careful to capture maxium flavour and aroma from the grape variety. The wine was bottled in July 1981 and has been held in the cool Krondorf Cellars allowing it to settle and mature prior to release It shows elegance of style typical of the Eden Valley region and will continue to improve with further bottle maturation for two to three years.

Our 75 hectare Estate was planted in 1973 and pioneered viticulture in the area. The undulating vineyards, set at an altitude of 315m., combines long warm nights, and well drained soils producing wines which rate with the world's finest. A typical elegant and soft style Cabernet influenced by the great wines of Bordeaux. This wine displays obvious full berry fruitbouquet with subtle vanilla oak characters. The individual parcels of each variety were matured separately in large oak casks. The Tokay spent two years in wood and the Semillon one year.
