El Patronato de Acción Social del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado (GAD) Municipal, realizó entre sábado y domingo la campaña médica oftalmológica en los sitios La Ruda y Nuevo Bachillero de la parroquia Ricaurte del cantón Chone. Fueron atendidos 316 pacientes.
El Alcalde, Deyton Alcívar y la presidenta del Patronato Municipal, Genny Macías encabezaron la delegación acompañados de los técnicos y personal del organismo municipal que brindaron las facilidades para la atención a los campesinos de estos sectores rurales.
Los beneficiados recibieron la asistencia de examen visual computarizado, lavado de ojos, entrega de lentes y además se entregaron medicina visual gratuitamente para los pacientes. La vicepresidenta del GAD parroquial de Ricaurte, María Fernanda Cedeño, se unió al trabajo de la comitiva.
El predio de la escuela del sitio La Ruda, acogió el sábado a los habitantes de las comunidades La Minaya, La Vélez, La Antena, Puerco 1 y 2; La Villa, Cabecera de la Villa, Cevallos, Cabecera de Cevallos, La Pachay, Buenos Aires de Plata, La Cresta del Gallo, Los Charcos, Boca Alegre, La Cereal y Las Flores, donde fueron atendidos 174 pacientes.
A la escuela del sitio Nuevo Bachillero, llegaron los habitantes de Nuevo Oriente, Boca de Bachillero, Boca de Plata, La Laguna, La Moreira, Cañales, Pata de Gallina, Tutumbe, La Vetilla y Fugones, siendo un total de 142 personas recibieron la campaña visual por parte de la optometrista contactóloga, Narcisa Moreira, quien además impartió una charla de concienciación ciudadana para el cuidado de los ojos.
José Zambrano habitante del sector, agradeció la oportunidad que brindaron a los campesinos de recibir los tratamientos médicos. Josefa del Jesús Cedeño una de las beneficiarias mostró sus agradecimientos al alcalde y a la presidenta del patronato por haber llegado con esta campaña médica.
