Named in honor of William Penn’s historic landing in Philadelphia in 1682, Penn’s Landing hosts events, classes, attractions, and entertainment all year long.
Perhaps most notably, this area is home to seasonal parks including Spruce Street Harbor Park and Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest, as well as tons of happenings at the Great Plaza.
The area spans Front Street to the Delaware River from Spring Garden Street to Washington Avenue. ~ www.visitphilly.com/things-to-do/attractions/penns-landing/

We were in Philly for an appointment. It was an overcast sky, but I wanted to take this shot of Philadelphia City Hall. It was not a good shot at all, but I played with editing, just for fun.
Enjoy!

For example, there are 250 sculptures in city hall all by sculptor Alexander Milne Calder.

A wet and slippery night in the city of brotherly love.. The new 57 floor Comcast Center is in the background... I think the mist on the lens added some interest to this.
According to visitphilly.com "ODUNDE is the creation of its South Philadelphia founder, Lois Fernandez, who launched the festival in 1975 after visiting similar celebrations in Africa. The concept originates from the Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa, and celebrates the coming of another year for African Americans and Africanized people around the world. The event is recognized globally as one of the original models for African American festivals.
ODUNDE, Inc. is an educational and cultural organization that sponsors year-round programs celebrating the African diaspora. Along with the annual ODUNDE Festival (the organization’s staple event), ODUNDE hosts ODUNDE365, a series of year-round African and African American cultural and wellness programming including African dance & drumming classes, entrepreneurship programs and more at schools, public green spaces and other venues."
Market Street | Philadelphia | PA
Market Street, originally known as High Street, is a major east–west street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Perhaps the most famous landmark is Independence National Historical Park, at Fifth and Market Streets. One Liberty Place, formerly Philadelphia's tallest building, is located at the southeast corner of 17th and Market Streets. (It was surpassed in height by the Comcast Center, located a block to the north, in June 2007). Reading Terminal, the former grand railroad station for the Reading Railroad is located on the northeastern corner of 12th and Market Streets. It now serves as the grand entrance to the Pennsylvania Convention Center. 30th Street Station, a major commuter rail line terminal, is located at the intersection of 30th and Market Streets.
