on a Saturday night! I have not been out much over the past month as life has gotten busy. I did manage to get out last night and do some night photography (well I guess this image would classify as twilight photography). I went down to the Camden Waterfront on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River; one of the best vantage points for photographing the skyline of Philadelphia. The sky was pretty cool looking right after sunset and this image here is one of the favorites I came away with. The City of Brotherly Love is looking pretty sharp these days! Believe it or not, not so long ago (early 1980'S) that the statue of Billy Penn (slightly left of center in the image) atop City Hall was THE tallest building in Philadelphia. Philadelphia City Hall is the seat of the municipal government of the City of Philadelphia. Built in the ornate Second Empire style, City Hall houses the chambers of the Philadelphia City Council and the offices of the Mayor of Philadelphia. It is also a courthouse, serving as the seat of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, and houses the Civil Trial and Orphans' Court Divisions of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County.
Built of brick, white marble, and limestone, Philadelphia City Hall is the world's largest free-standing masonry building and was the world's tallest habitable building upon its completion in 1894. In 1976, it was designated a National Historic Landmark, and in 2006, was also named a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The beautiful and classic Alabama limestone exterior of Philadelphia Pennsylvania’s William H. Gray III 30th Street Train Station which sits on the banks of the Schuylkill River in the University Heights area of the city of brotherly love. The powerful Pennsylvania Railroad constructed the 30th Street Station to replace the inadequate small & inefficient Broad Street Station in Center City.
