Citroën introduced the Visa in 1978. As the design with the large unpainted bumpers was not very popular the model was facelifted in 1981 already. The Club model has a 652 cc air-cooled 2-cylinder engine, a larger version of the one in the 2CV6. The Visa was built until 1988.

The Visa was built by Citroën from 1978 until 1988. This is a model from after the 1981 facelift. The 11 RE has a 1.1 litre water-cooled engine from Peugeot.
I've been in France for a few days for work. Didn't get the chance to see a lot (of course), but in the few hours we were free I saw two Visa's!
The older female owner of this Visa saw me taking the picture, and came out to ask why I did that. I tried to convince her it was just enthusiasm because the car is rare and that I wouldn't do anything strange with it, but I couldn't leave before I had left some of my details. So if this car is stolen in the near future, I'm suspect #1. ;-)

Citroën introduced the Visa in 1978. This is the dashboard of the first series with its famous satellite and a one spoke steering wheel. The dashboard of the Visa was replaced in 1984 with a more conventional unit.
I can now claim to have driven two Citroen Visas from opposite ends of the range. This base-model Special has a 652cc flat-twin engine, basically a bored-out 2CV unit with the same clattery sound and roly-poly handling. It was great fun but rather frantic so I'm not sure I'd want to take it on a long journey.

I was standing watching the world go by near Brick Lane when I noticed Janne wandering by. Happily she agreed to be part of my project and we walked a short distance to this lovely old street nearby.
Janne (pronounced Yana) told me she was hoping to go to the London Coffee Festival in the Old Truman Building opposite but didn't have a ticket, thinking it would be possible to pay at the door, sadly not.
Janne is a Californian but living, working and studying a Masters in International Film Business. Her studies are based at the University of Exeter but taught in partnership with the London Film School.
"I would love to be able to stay in London when I complete my MA but once my student visa comes to an end, its difficult to remain in the UK. If not London, then I'd like to work in New York."
