We did it! All our little dog walk miles from October to February have added up to 268 miles- the Pennine Way virtual challenge. Thank you Dougal for getting me out and about, you’re one of the best things to come out of 2020 😊.

It’s also good to know a tree has been planted up in the Clyde Muirsheil National Park, Scotland, near the Camphill Reservoir. When I signed up for the End to End Virtual challenge I opted for a tree to be planted rather than receiving a t shirt.

That Our Life Is A Game!

We decided to unwind and go to a snow-covered loka,

where in the pre-Christmas magical silence

crystal sounds of silver bells come from tightly closed shutters,

the music of Jinge Bells, White Xmass sounds... How dumbfounded we were,

the deer roam unbridled alone, the carriage is timed out,

a man in a Santa costume is drunk and begging in the center of Loki like some kind of homeless person!

The snow blows straight into your eyes, you only have to climb in Santa's carriage over the loka!

Evil snowmen hurtling snowballs painfully, you only have to turn away!

From the filmed video, it turns out not a Christmas story, but a straight Tomb Raider of some kind!

Don't get caught in densely spaced traps! Do not touch the handle of the red refrigerator!

Do not click on the arrows with the words "click here"!

Do not peek through the keyhole, no matter how much you would like it!

Wait until you get home and don't put your frozen nose in the toilets, no way!

It's best to put on headphones, turn on the Enigma on the player and hide in a huge Christmas tree toy,

at least it's warm and not blowing there!

3D modelling and rendering software is often demostrated using reflective surfaces and chessboard-pattern backgrounds (they look effective in distorted reflections rendered on cyllinders, cones or spheres). Those images are so familiar, now almost a synonim of '3D'...

And then I came across a real-life situation (chrome waste bin on a marble bathroom floor) that strikingly resembles that virtual reality. Except there's nothing digital and it's... real :)

My friend Michael Naimark is exploring new ideas for virtual reality experiences, in collaboration with Google and other researchers. To discuss this work, we got together with two other colleagues, Steve Gano and Jim McKee -- with whom we worked at the Apple Multimedia Lab in the eighties, pushing the envelope on related questions.

We started with a tour of the historic Sentinel Building in North Beach, home of American Zoetrope -- where Francis Coppola worked on many cinematic masterpieces like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. We checked out the underground screening room and sound mixing room where some of that work took place, then headed upstairs to Michael and Jim’s studios, for a wonderful conversation about the new VR frontier.

Michael and his colleagues are researching how people are represented in virtual reality. Their first experiment at Google’s “Big Chairs” Park led to some helpful guidelines on how to film people for VR, by using different camera angles and distances.

They’re also investigating ‘hyper-images’ that resemble a group of people, but that are shot at different times and composited together to create both ‘credible’ and ‘incredible’ pictures. To enable more experiments like these, Michael is developing ‘IMU VR’, a new type of camera that could make it easier for communities to tell their stories in VR. More on this later.

It was great to reconnect with my colleagues and brainstorm these ideas together. It felt like the good old days, and the creative juices were flowing all over again ...

Thank you for choosing my photo for the group's cover. It is an honor and pleasure to have it selected.

Getting the motivation to build, but don't want to scrap the Koenigsegg for pieces quite yet. For now, I'm building suspensions physically to make sure they're functional, and I'm building the rest of the chassis in LDD. Going to try to keep the goal a secret for as long as possible :)

Of course this is highly retouched, but after seeing the finished product I realized I resembled any number of television personalities of the era.

"December Bride," "I Married Joan," or maybe Ethel Mertz (Vivian Vance) from "I Love Lucy."

I want to buttrape her face.
