XD Talon, M9-14 Hypersonic Demonstrator (Hypersonic Fixed Wing Aircraft)
XD Talon, M9-14 Hypersonic Demonstrator (Hypersonic Fixed Wing Aircraft). This is not a graphics design but an actual aircraft design that is highly refined and serial production ready.
Submitted with #DIU but #Stratolaunch evidently spent millions to ensure they get selected (weeks before DIU even solicited for Hycat on behalf of AFRL) for their rehashed 90s M5 plane. Their plane is not likely to even survive flight at those velocities and ensure a very very high cost.

XD Talon was designed specifically as a demonstrator model, for normalized hypersonic aerospace capabilities. Scaled down from XH Talon. XR Talon, is much larger version.
Submitted with DIU (Defense Innovation Unit) with the Dept of Defense as per request, it was rejected without a single question being asked.
XD Talon was specifically designed around HYCAT, and met all criteria of the request, and exceeded every aspect in their entirety.
The rejection is not from DIU, but from a group of individuals at AFRL/AFOSR who are obstructing (along with a few insiders not employed by DOD) the Dept of Defense from advancing, preventing the United States from catching up with China, Russia, Brazil, and now even India for hypersonic capabilities.
The United States used to be Mach 10 capable 20 years ago, but the brain drain has been enormous.
Today, the Dept of Defense is spending billion's just trying to rehash 1990's capabilities for Mach 5-7.

XD Talon, propelled by U-TBCC propulsion, which is a Hybrid turbine platform, that the center core of the engine is a ramjet/scramjet, and the turbine assembly rotates around the dual mode ramjet/scramjet. All technical detail are extensively proprietary.
More info about U-TBCC can be found here. www.ioaircraft.com/hypersonic/utbcc.php
Hydrogen storage capabilities for 16,000 PSI are proprietary technology of Io Aircraft Inc. The inner shell for the conforming tanks, are 1/8" thickness multi layer graphene and using our Conforming Tank technology that is patented.
More Info about conforming tanks can be found here ioaircraft.com/innovation/conformingtanks.php
This allows for substantial energy storage of compressed hydrogen for extended endurance of hypersonic aircraft of all types, plus fuel cell powered electric private and commercial aircraft.
The kero fuel, ie Jet, JP7m JP8, etc is meant exclusively for the turbine aspect of the propulsion, for take off, landing, accent, descent, etc.
The entire aircraft is 3D printed using graphene dust, the aircraft ribbing is primarily for visual presentation but also forming the 3 dimensional referencing of the 3D printing processes and conducted in stages.
The surface structuring is de-oxidized graphene shell, over coated for 6,000+ F thermal resistance which at Mac 10 at 90,000ft altitude will not exceed 3,000F and able to operate perpetually, with minimal maintenance, ie dozens of flight before any maintenance is required. Furthermore, the nose section (ie the bow) has an internalized cooling system which cycles nitrogen throughout the nose when underlying structures exceed tolerances for sensors and the fwd bay.
Overall, XD Talon is serial production ready, once the first unit is fabricated and begins flights.

A 20-second rocket burn propelled the vehicle to 70,000 ft on January 10, 2014. The igniter burst can be briefly seen prior to full ignition. Range 24 km (15 mi).
The video shows the full duration of the rocket burn, but a few filler frames had to be inserted toward the end. No audio.

Falcon VTOL is a completely new aircraft design, next generation technologies, and capabilities never seen before. As seen here, anything released publicly are early iterations to get a good look and feel for the aircraft type publicly. But rest assured, every single aspect of this aircraft, the technologies, physics, and systems are already developed.
